"You already texted her, FaceTimed with her before we took off and after we landed, and are gonna call again later. She's good, Liv." Spencer tried to reassure his clearly nervous wife. Their three year old was spending the weekend with his mom and Liv had already checked in more times than he could count in the 12 hours they had been gone.

A couple weeks prior, a joke that Olivia made about celebrating Jordan and Simone's upcoming wedding anniversary at the same place they first got married turned serious and a weekend, couples-only getaway was planned. Originally excited about it, Olivia was now a little nervous about leaving her daughter for an entire weekend. It never really got easier but she was excited to spend some alone time with her husband. She just wanted to make sure that the energetic toddler was okay and not giving Ms. Grace too much of a hard time.

"I know, but she's really only spent single nights away from us. I just wanted to make sure she's okay. And your mom. Maddy is three and a little wild so I don't wanna lose favorite daughter-in-law status." Liv defended before a sudden waive of nausea hit, making her eyebrows scrunch.

"You good?" Spencer asked with concern lacing his tone.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I think that the flight food just didn't agree with me. I'm good."

"Alright. But yes, I'm sure she's got it handled. We said baby free and we meant it, right? So let's enjoy our alone time. Especially since you know Jordan and Simone are going to drive us crazy again. Plus, it is Vegas after all. Tons of us stuff for us to get into." He smirked, inching his way closer to her, and placing his hands on her waist.

"I'm 99% sure you meant things that don't include leaving the hotel but we do have dinner reservations with them for 7:00 so we can't get into that just yet." She raised her eyebrows and let out a small laugh at his pout. "But I got you later. Maddy not being here means a little more freedom that I'm sure you'll appreciate." she said before looking over to the side. He followed her eyes over to the bed where her open suitcase sat and the brand new lacy, lingerie she brought laid on top.

"Yeah, we gonna have to make this dinner quick." He said seriously.

"No arguments here." She replied with a wink.

The next morning, the pair was enjoying a late brunch before walking around to shop and explore. It was always fun to come back to Vegas. It held a special place in their relationship. Something that Olivia was deeply pondering as they ate their food and conversed.

"You know, I always thought of what would've happened if I hadn't left that night. All those years ago. How different things would've been." She spoke up, a hint of sadness taking over.

Spencer placed a hand on hers, making her look up and into his eyes. "It played out exactly how it was supposed to. We went at our pace and everything happened the way it did for a reason."

She leaned over the table and placed a gentle kiss on his lips. "You're right. After all, we wouldn't have Maddy if it happened any other way."

"And she's pretty incredible. Even when she gives me the same look you do when I try to tell her no" he added with a laugh.

"Wait, what? I don't have a look." She scoffed.

"Okay." He said with slow nod, his face scrunched.

"I do not!" she said before looking into his eyes and laughing. "Whatever, we should get going if we wanna have enough time to explore and make it to that show with Jordan and Simone this afternoon. They'll kill us if we're late."

"Alright, let's go"

Spencer laid out some money to pay the bill and they walked out the door into the familiar strip of stores.
