"I don't know, Liv. I'm not sure it's a good idea."
"Baby, please." Poking her bottom lip out as she tugged on his shirt, she could feel him beginning to shift to walk away and placed her hands on his shoulders to keep him in place. "Okay okay okay, just hear me out. You would fall in love, I promise. Plus, you would barely notice. Please? For me?" Her puppy dog eyes were enough for a temporary pause and Spencer quickly reflected. Closing the space between them, he wrapped his hands around her waist and gently pecked her lips. Then he crushed her hopes.
"No." Spencer sighed out, pulling away and making his way around the corner and sitting on a bar stool.
"What do you mean no?" Olivia crossed her arms, a pout out now on display and confusion beginning to take over. No? What did he mean, no? He's never even so much as began the n sound of that word to her. Following him and standing in front of him again, she continued to just stare at him.
"I mean, no. I get the excitement but it's not a good idea, Liv."
"So what I'm hearing is you're coming around to it and just need more time?" she teased, her eyebrows wiggling."I'm serious, babe. You're six months pregnant while we have a three year old and both of our jobs are insane right now. You really think that adding on a puppy would be a good idea right now?"
With a toddler, Liv's second pregnancy and the season being in full swing, the idea of adding more to their plates seemed crazy. Despite all this, the two of them had been considering adding a new, furry member to their family. And by the two of them, it was mainly Olivia looking at and randomly texting him pictures of available puppies from local shelters while Spencer changed the subject each time it was brought up."I think it'd be a great idea. I mean, Maddy would love it and we'd give an innocent animal a loving home. Plus, you'd barely even notice between practice, games and travel. Not to mention" she trailed as she found her way onto his lap. Knowing that he'd need a little more persuading, she wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed up jaw before meeting his lips and slowly kissing him causing his eyes to flutter shut as he let out a groan, "it'd make me really happy and we both know what happens when i'm really happy."
Spencer let her plant another kiss before he opened his eyes. Looking into her eyes as he rubbed her thigh, he returned her wide smile. Stilling his hands, he took a breath and shook his head, "Still no."
Now fully offended, Olivia stood up and began to stop away. "I hope you know you're not getting any tonight" she yelled as she made her way up the stairs to check on Maddy.--
Later that night, Olivia was moving around her bathroom and slowly going through her night time routine. She was stalling in hopes that Spencer would get in from reading Maddy her bedtime story before she finished. Her attempts earlier didn't work so she decided to step her game up. Knowing well enough from experience that being in bed with her partially or fully exposed but not being able to touch her drove Spencer crazy, she'd decided to skip out on her usual pajamas. She also knew that Spencer understood that this way her immediate signal to him. Having decided on something that would still provide comfort but would be just enough to expose Spencer's favorite pregnancy features of hers, she continued on.
As she was drying off her face, she heard his footsteps right before seeing him in reflection of the mirror. She could see him gazing down to her boobs, which were slightly overflowing from the thin sports bra she was wearing before his eyes made their way down to her ass, both assets always growing during pregnancy. When he finally met her eyes again and smirked, Olivia simply kept a straight face. He made his way over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his head on the crook of her neck. She knew that he thought because this was typically her signal to initiate and say that she wasn't upset anymore, he was getting his hopes up.
