happy national cookout day, everyone!

Pacing the kitchen as she ate through a pack of Oreos, Olivia let out an occasional "Mhm" and "Yeah totally" to feign interest. Laura had called for the fifth time that day and was asking a million questions as they had "deadlines" to make. Planning a wedding had been stressful and not the most enjoyable part of being engaged. If Olivia had it her way, she'd just magically appear on the day of her wedding in the dress and it would all be done. The details of it all were sometimes so small and annoying that she didn't want to be bothered. If anything, the only part she was excited about was that she'd finally be marrying her best friend. Well, that and cake. Cake was definitely important.

It wasn't until the idea of mention of table cards came up that Olivia finally had to stop the madness. "Mom, I've already told you a hundred times that you can just pick. Red, blue, orange, periwinkle, I literally don't care. Table card colors don't interest me." Olivia spoke into her phone. Hearing footsteps approaching and sighing in relief that Spencer was finally home, Olivia put her phone on speaker and left it on the counter. Muting herself to peck his lips and properly greet him, Olivia pulled away as she raised her eyebrows and pursed her lips.

"I love you but if I call this wedding off it is because I have heard the words "color palate" or "seating chart" one too many times." She deadpanned before unmuting herself. "Yep, sounds great mom. Hey, look Spencer just got back from practice and we actually have some errands to run so I have to go. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?" crossing her eyes to show exhaustion before rushing out "alrightloveyoubye."

"Oliv-" Laura's voice could be heard before the dial tone beeped. Olivia threw her head back and let out a breath before turning her eyes back to her phone and scrolling.

"Did you? Did you just? Oh yeah, that's definitely your white side coming out. I could never." Spencer put his hands up and backed away when she looked up and shot him a glare. "My bad."

"Yeah your bad. You don't have to hear all this. You get the easy job, you get to just show up." She rolled her eyes as she stood and reached into the fridge to grab a water.

"And um speaking of job, has Jordan clued you in on what he has planned for your bachelor party?" she said as she placed the cap back on, trying to act nonchalant. They had talked briefly about certain...expectations they had about their respective bachelor and bachelorette parties. Fully trusting each other but far from trusting of Jordan and Simone, the couple had agreed that they wanted fun but low key nights with their friends. It didn't stop Olivia from trying to figure out what was being talked about for the guys' night out.

"Baby, for the hundredth time, J hasn't told me anything. I told him exactly what we talked about. Just a fun night out with the boys, nothing crazy."

"And you think he's gonna listen to you?" she raised her eyebrow before slowly making her way over to him. Wrapping her arms around his neck and placing a kiss on his cheek, she looked up into his eyes and bit her lip. "Have I told you today how fine you are?"

Smiling before leaning down and kissing her deeply, he pulled away and gazed back into her eyes, "Still not telling you."

"Just a hint!" she whined.

"Nope. Especially if I can't know what Simone has planned for all you crazies."

"Not fair, don't loop me in with those hooligans. Simone and I had the same talk so she knows that I want low key too. Plus, Jenn is still the baby of the group and her mom would kill us. It'll be tame."

"You sure about that?"

"Yes." She defended, matching his eyebrow raise. "No."

Pouting and resting her chin on his shoulder, she sighed before closing her eyes when he kissed the side of her head.

Letting out a laugh, Spencer rubbed her back. "It'll be fine, baby. We called on them as our best man and matron of honor for a reason and we know how to handle ourselves."

"Yeah, you better. I would hate for the Rams to lose their star player due to a mysterious injury." She let out with a squint and sarcastic smile.

"You know what, I'll double check with J and make sure he heard me." He said, unwrapping his hands from her waist.

"Mhm." She crossed her arms and giggled as he walked away, typing furiously into his phone.
