"How many parts does one toy have to have?" Spencer groaned out in frustration.
It was Christmas Eve and the parents were finishing some last-minute wrapping but it'd been two hours and he still wasn't finished with the gigantic dollhouse Liv had gotten their daughter for Christmas.
"Theres literally only three major pieces. If you had read the directions then you probably would've had an easier time. And c'mon babe, you know Maddy is gonna freak out when she sees this. You'll definitely be Daddy of the year." She stated sweetly, bending down from her place on the couch and wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
"Plus, if you get this done soon enough maybe Santa will give you an early Christmas present." She whispered into his ear, placing gentle kisses to his neck.
"You still think you cute, huh?" Spencer said through closed eyes. Even after all this time and four years of marriage, he couldn't help but give in to his wife.
"I mean if you've got it, why not work it- right?" She replied with a smirk.
"You about to work something alright" Spencer said turning slightly to grab her waist and flipping her over so he was on top of her on their burgundy-colored rug."Oh am I?"
"For sure. We got plenty of time before Maddy wakes up and we have to play Mr. and Mrs. Claus." He said placing soft kisses on her jawline as he moved his way down to her neck.
"When you put it that way...." Olivia trailed, giving in to his temptation.
His hands found their way up her lower back and under her shirt making her arch perfectly. Just as she found her way into his pants, the sound of tiny footsteps and a little voice speaking up made them freeze. Peering up from her- well, compromising position, Olivia saw the big brown eyes and messy curls she had passed down to a tiny human looking right at her.
"Mama, did Santa come yet?"
Liv's eyes widened as she looked to Spencer, pleading he could read her eyes and offer up some help. But he stood quiet and flustered.Typical.
"Uh....umm...not yet baby, it's still early. He comes when you're sleeping and it's not quite morning yet. So why don't I read you another story so you can get back to sleep and he can come?" She tried to play off the awkward situation, praying her three-year-old daughter didn't ask questions. Like why there was a bunch of pieces of furniture around...or why her father was on top of her mother.
"Okay. But can we read Goodnight Moon this time? I like that one" she said through a yawn.
"Whatever you want, baby girl. Go head back over and I'll meet you there in two minutes okay."
Satisfied with her mom's response, Maddy walked back to her room and left her parents in the living room.Olivia pushed Spencer off and gently swatted at his shoulder. "Thanks for the help Mr. Claus"
"How was I supposed to know that of all nights she was gonna wake up now? She's practically slept through the night since birth. And what was I gonna say? "Hey Princess, I'm on top of your fine ass mama because we're finally alone and not being yelled at to play JoJo Siwa for the millionth time?" "
"True." Liv said through a small laugh "But still, send a prayer that she doesn't ask any questions because I will be putting it all on you." Liv said before standing to walk into the room."Don't think were not finishing this when you're done in there" Spencer said as he gave her butt a playful smack.
"Slow your roll Mr. Claus, you need to finish. Then we can finish our unwrapping. In the bedroom. With a door that locks." She said back with a smirk and made her way out the room.
"Say less" he called out to her.
"Freakin' Christmas." Spencer said with a sigh before getting back to work.
