"Okay, so it's actually pretty simple and straightforward. Each player will go up, you read the card and then begin the bidding." Jordan said, a little too excited at the idea of being auctioned off. It took everything in Olivia to not burst his bubble and make a comment about having to sell himself for a date.

"I hope you realize our ancestors are pissed. But yeah, I got it. Can't wait." Olivia sarcastically smiled. She was still trying to calm her nerves and settle her brain after what happened with Spencer. It was easier said then done, especially when she had peeked around the curtain from the stage and saw Spencer and his....date. Whatever.

Olivia wanted more than anything to start over but it wasn't easy. Seeing him and not being sure of what they were or where they stood drove her insane. It was like she was going back to square one and despite some of his actions or words, the insecurities and uncertainties in her brain spoke louder.

"I have to get out there, but Lindsay will lead you to the podium when it's ready." Jordan snapped his fingers and smiled before walking away, leaving Olivia alone. Taking deep breaths and mentally going through about a million affirmations, Olivia hadn't noticed that Spencer had quietly appeared behind her.

"You're going to kill it. You got nothing to be scared of, Liv."

Jumping at the sound of his voice, Olivia spun around and was faced with the pair of eyes that could calm her deepest of storms and set off her innermost desires with a single glance. "Thanks. I just hate being thrown into things. I like to be sure. Trying to tamper that impulsive side of me, you know." She gave a small smile, her eyes trailing to the floor.

"You go after something when you know in your gut that it's right. It's one of your best qualities. You've always wanted to know every single outcome beforehand though. Which is funny because even when you find it out all the facts, you're still the most headstrong and determined person that I know."

"Yeah, maybe a little too headstrong." Olivia silently grumbled. In her mind, that had cost her everything. No matter the praise of the article being released, it all felt empty without the one person who had seen and loved her from day one. Just as she had loved him for being simply Spencer, she knew in her core that he loved her for being just Olivia. She'd missed that.

Being in his presence again was not easy. It didn't help that the image of their encounter just a few minutes earlier kept flashing through her brain. It was doing nothing to settle the emotions flooding through her. The guilt, confusion, uncertainty and yearning had hit like a tidal wave after the kiss. She knew that they weren't together and that it would take a lot for them to get back to where they didn't stop the love and desire to fix things. It was just complicated to sort through when the fear of rejection or having missed her opportunity reared its ugly head. She had come a long way from the girl she was when they first met, but when it came to Spencer it was almost as though the depth of her feelings could cause the most fearful feelings and vulnerable insecurities to surface.

"Nah, you're tenacious. I only said headstrong because I wish that I had some of the strength you have, Liv." His eyes glanced her up and down, trying to withhold the emotion brewing in him. Spencer knew that Olivia was strong, confident and never afraid to speak up but he also knew that crowds, especially of unknown people and surrounding unknown topics, were the bane of her existence. He also knew that if he wanted to have a real conversation with her and possibly get back to the foundation of what they were and get his girl back, he was going to have to show her that he loved and accepted all of her. Even the things he knew she probably felt doubtful of because of their recent chaos.

"Thanks. But seriously, you don't have to comfort me, Spencer. Like I said a few weeks ago, it's not on you anymore."

"And like I said from day one, you always got me. Together or not, Liv, I will always be there for you."

Olivia cleared her throat at his gaze and shifted her weight from one leg to the other in order to calm her nerves. "Thank you. I should get going though, it looks like Lindsay is ready to announce everything and start."

"I'll catch you later?" Spencer asked, shyness creeping into his tone. It was just as confusing for him and he wasn't sure what it was that caused him to be a little uncertain. He knew that Olivia was never one to openly express her feelings or go for what she wanted. He also knew that he had probably given the wrong impression by inviting Alicia to the event. He honestly thought that he would be able to hook her up with a teammate and call it a day. It was the least he could do after breaking it off with her a few weeks before. They ended whatever they had going on, on friendly enough terms that he'd mentioned possibly being a wingman for her. Spencer now realized how complicated this was making everything but he'd felt bad. That wasn't going to stop him from getting what he'd wanted.

"Yeah. Later." Olivia nodded with a small smile.

"Alright, everybody welcome to the annual GAU Man Crush Fundraiser. I'm Lindsay of AKA, Southern California Chapter and I am thrilled to announce our host for tonight's event. Olivia Baker is a member of GAU's freshmen class and is an intern for the LA Tribune. We're thrilled to have her host, Olivia please come on out."

Olivia took a deep breath and plastered on her best smile. She squared her shoulders back and walked to the podium.

"What's up, everyone? I'm excited to be here tonight and help settle the debate in the Baker household that I truly am the superior player, sorry not sorry bro." Some light chuckles floated through the crowd and helped Olivia feel like she could relax just a notch. "Just kidding, we all know that these guys are pretty bad ass so we're just going to get right into it. I'm going to introduce our line up of eligible bachelors but please put your hands together and give it up for the GAU football team!" She clapped and silently let out a breath as she took a slight step back to angle herself to the guys.

After the first few bids were done, Olivia saw that the first of the two cards she'd dreaded most was up. Deciding to go with humor for this one, she smiled as she began her next announcement. "Congrats, Thompson on that impressive bid. Next up, we have a guy who I can say with certainty is a cheap date, my twin and GAU's QB1, Jordan Baker!"

Jordan walked forward from the line of men behind Olivia and took his spot next to her as she read her card. "Jordan Baker is the 6'2", freshman Quarterback who took GAU by storm and is looking to take a lucky lady by storm on a date." Olivia began to laugh and shook her head, "Depends on your definition of lucky but here we are. We'll start the bidding at $5."

"Start the bidding at $5" Jordan mocked her.

"Fine, I'm kidding. We'll start the bidding at one hundred dollars. Do we have one hundred dollars."

A few paddles went up and then Olivia upped the ante. "Do we have $150?" and at the sea of paddles remaining in the air, Olivia gave a fake gag, "You sure, ladies? Okay, if you say so. Do we have $200?"

A few paddles went down and then to settle it, Olivia cleared her throat. "Alright, we have $200, do we have $250?" and the last paddle remained.

"I have $500." A voice called from far back, taking everyone by surprise.

"$500! Do we have anyone for $550?" Olivia called out as she squinted to see who it was, as Jordan rubbed his hands together. After a moment of no one topping the bid, Olivia knocked the gavel down. "Alright, $500 it is. Come up and meet your bachelor."

The crowd began to part as the bidder made their way to the front, and murmurs began to rumble throughout the hall. It wasn't until the person finally made their way to Olivia and Jordan's line of sight that they realized why there was a shock going through the crowd.

"Hey" the bidder said.

"Simone?" the Bakers said in surprised unison, as their eyes went wide.

Alright, so I originally didn't intend for this little plotline to be multiple parts but i'm scheming on my Spencer/Liv and Jordan/Simone agenda since the AAU isn't giving it to me. I'm hoping to not have such a long wait for the next part!
