"As in the sith lord?" Wrecker asked.
You nodded, "at one point yes," you explained, "Master Kenobi and I thought we defeated him on Naboo before the clone wars officially began, but he resurfaced around the time of the second battle of Geonosis."
"We were still in training at this time," Tech added, "but we heard he escaped, but never heard of him again."
"That is because he was here, on Mandalore," Bo-Katan responded, "killing our dutchess and taking advantage of the corruption."
"Not that I don't understand why you want revenge, but what does that have to do with us?" Hunter asked.
"Were you not listening, clone?" Kaska spat, "we need the Jedi's help."
"We have problems of our own," Echo chimed in.
Kaska threw her arms in the air, "so you would rather run off into the galaxy instead of helping us dethrone that sith reject?"
The others began to argue, but you tuned out their voices. Hunter noticed and walked up to you, "what are you thinking."
You shook your head, "the whole time I studied Maul, he only ever had one goal," you whispered, "he wanted revenge on me and especially on Obi-Wan for what happened on Naboo. That is why he killed the duchess, that is why he trained another from Denether, everything he did, he did for revenge."
Hunter rubbed his hand on the small of your back comfortingly, waiting for you to continue. "So why would he remain on Mandalore, if he wants revenge why not come looking for me or Obi-Wan?"
"Perhaps he got his revenge?" Hunter suggested.
You thought for a moment, "no, he swore to kill Obi-Wan, he thought that if he killed Obi-Wan, both he and I would suffer."
"Why would killing Obi-Wan cause you to suffer?" he asked.
You smiled fondly at the memory, "because back then, Obi-Wan and I were close. We were raised and trained together, we were inseparable. Maul thought that if I had to live without him, I would suffer just as much."
"Ok, but then why would he stay on Mandalore?" Hunter asked.
You thought for a moment, "clearly fear has driven him to ground, he is hiding from something."
Hunter turned you to look you in the eyes, placing his hands on your shoulders, "you want to go find him don't you?"
You didn't look into his eyes and shuffled your feet, "Hunter, I know we still have to figure out what to do with Omega, where to go, and you probably don't want to start another war but..."
Hunter hooked his finger under your chin to meet his gaze, he was smiling, "I would follow you to a thousand wars if it meant I could stay by your side."
You smiled back at him and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek before turning to the others who were still arguing.
"Enough," you shouted over the commotion. All heads turned towards you, "I will help you defeat Maul and reclaim your planet, under one condition."
Bo-Katan smiled at you, "name it."
"We all get revenge," you said confidently, "but I get to kill him."
