The Path of a Jedi Book 2 (The Bad Batch x Reader)

Chapter 11

You nodded in thanks and walked out of the throne room and towards your squad who was helping direct citizens to places to stay.

"Hey," you shouted getting their attention, "we got a message," you said waving the holodisk at them.

They all gathered around you, "Bo-Katan said she received a coded transmission from an old friend of mine," you explained handing the disk to Tech.

"Who could have known we would be here?" Wrecker asked.

You smiled, "I imagine it would be someone who could find me anywhere." They all looked confused, but you just nodded to Tech to play the message.

From the disk a faded blue image appeared of a Torgruta. She quickly removed her cloak and you were met with the smiling face of Ahsoka Tano. You noticed how much she has grown since you last seen her, long before the Jedi Purge began.

"Hello, master (Y/N)," her voice spoke, "it is good to hear that you are still alive after what happened, Captain Rex told me all about how your squad saved you. I wish we could have more time to catch up, but there is something you must know urgently."

She paused and everyone looked at you, but shook your head as Ahsoka continued, "The child Omega, is special, although I am sure you already know that. The Kaminoans were successful in creating a force sensitive clone, but they would not give her up so easily. My contacts tell me that Nala Se, now working for the empire, is looking everywhere for her experiment," she paused again, but you could not bring yourself to look away from her. "They will find her, and the sooner she embraces her powers, the sooner they will find her."

You stared in horror as the realization of what she said sunk in, "they will come looking for her again," you whispered.

The others were in shock as well, "she is in danger wherever she is," Echo added.

"I pushed her down this path," you whispered, "I encouraged her to explore her powers, I sent her away to be trained."

Hunter placed a hand on yours, "we all wanted her to be trained, we all thought it would make her safe."

"There is more to the recording," Tech interrupted, pressing another button on the holodisk.

"I am sorry, but I cannot train her," Ahsoka's voice came again, "she is not safe with me, the only way for her to be safe is to be moving all of the time and to let her abilities fade. Hidden in this message are our coordinates, I imagine your clones will have the ability to decode them. May the force be with you."

The blue image faded and you all stared at each other dumbfounded, "why couldn't she just tell us the coordinates?" Wrecker asked.

"Because if it got into the wrong hands, it would be a one-way ticket to Omega," Tech explained, "but I noticed a pattern as she was speaking, I should be able to decode the coordinates in no time."

"Are we sure we want to do that?" Echo asked, "Omega is no safer with us than with Commander Tano, that much is still true."

"We can't just leave her there," Wrecker responded, "Commander Tano said she couldn't train her."

You looked at Hunter as the others argued, "what's going on inside your head?" he asked.

You shook your head, "we knew she was special, we knew they were looking for her, but I still thought the best thing was to train her, help her protect herself."

Hunter gripped your wrists, "then train her, you train her," he responded, "if Commander Tano won't, then you can."

You shook your head again, "if Ahsoka will not train her, there is a reason, I cannot train her if it will just be a reason for the empire to find her."

"Then we disappear," Hunter said, "we go someplace where no one can ever find us."

"That might work for the rest of you," you said sadly, "but there is no place in the galaxy where I am safe to be around, anyone can find me if they reach into the force long enough."

Hunter hung his head, "I don't know what to do."

You thought for a moment, before you lifted Hunter's head up and turned to the others, "we go get our girl."
