Chapter 33

You smiled before hoisting your saber above your head, "Rebels....."

"Attack!" you shouted, running towards the Empire with your friends in tow. You sliced through countless troopers, watching as the others battled on. You fought through the crowds to reach the grand inquisitor, a new strength restored in your muscles.

You pushed on, before standing before Krennick, a twisted smile on his face with a gun raised. "Impressive show, Jedi," he laughed, "but your meager force of washed up warriors is no match for the Empire."

You gestured around, looking at your friends holding their own against the imperial forces, "I think we're doing all right."

"The child will be ours," he continued. Krennick was clearly trying to distract you from something, but you could not help but follow his gaze. You saw Omega, standing behind Hunter and Wrecker, she held a small gun in her hand, but she had not yet fired it.

"You know that the child is special," Krennick continued, drawing your attention back, "you have become fond of her."

You broke your attention from Omega to look back at Krennick, "what do you want with her?" Agisting your better judgment you engaged Krennick in conversation, wanting to learn more about Omega's past.

Krennick smiled, he had caught your attention and was now doing everything in his power to distract you. "She will be experimented on of course, her DNA will be used to make more of her kind, an entire army," he said matter-of-factly.

"She is only a child," you protested, "how could even the Empire be so cruel?"

Krennick laughed again, "we will advance our ranks at any cost."

You shook your head, trying to shake the distraction and focus again, "it doesn't matter, you won't get to her."

You dropped into a stance, ready to rush Krennick, but you felt something behind you, a cold and unforgiving weight gripped at your chest. Time moved slowly, "NO!" you heard a shout from somewhere to your right. You turned ready to throw up your saber in defense, but when you turned a figure jumped in between you.

You looked on in horror as the Grand Inquisitor's blade came crushing down and the sickening sound of the saber going through flesh. There was nothing you could do but watch as the figure gasped in pain and fell to the ground.
