You and the others ran around the camp of the former death watch gathering supplies and creating attack teams. Bo-Katan had agreed to allow you to kill Maul, but only because she knew she needed your help.
"Jedi," Kaska called from across the camp.
"I have a name you know," you said as you got closer to her.
"Do jedi not like to be called by their titles, on Mandalore, being called Mandalorian is a symbol of respect," Kaska explained as she began leading you throughout the camp.
"I thought you did not like the term Mando?" you asked curiously, "in the temple, people used to use the term as a derogatory remark."
She shrugged, "Mando is a slang term," she explained, "most do consider it an insult, but I think anything that connects me with the legacy of Mandalore is a compliment."
You nodded in response and she pulled aside the flap of a tent you have not been in before, "Bo-Katan wanted to see you," she said, gesturing for you to enter.
You nodded to Kaska and walked into the tent. You looked around a bit and realized that this must be Bo-Katan's personal quarters. There was a low bed, blankets and a single table that was strewn with weapons.
Bo-Katan walked out from behind a curtain, pulling on her leg armor before looking at you, "(Y/N), I have something for you."
She gestured to a metal box and you walked over to it. You lifted the lid and pulled out what was inside. There was a black bodysuit, made of material that when you stretched it, it moved with each of your movements. But the real surprise was what was underneath the fabric. You pulled out beautifully decorated plates of bescar, enough pieces to create a full armor.
"It is beautiful," you whispered, admiring the intricate details of blues, purples and deep reds. The designs were abstract with gentle accents of white to make it look perfectly marbled, but combined a solid color.
"I had it made for my sister," Bo-Katan said, taking a seat across from you, "if there ever came a time when she needed to join the fight, I wanted her to be protected."
You nodded, "your sister did fight, just not in the way we do."
Bo-Katan nodded, a distant look on her face, "Satine always spoke so highly of you and Obi-Wan, I grew up watching archive footage of your fights, mainly because the academy wanted us to be able to defeat Jedi, but I never thought of it like that," she explained, "I wanted to be like the jedi, fearless, powerful, caring."
You smiled at her, "the death watch may have gone about things wrong, but their hearts were always in the right place, and now you lead your people to reclaim your home, what is more fearless and caring than that."
She smiled at you gratefully, "I want you to have it," she said gesturing to the armor, "as a symbol of my thanks and respect, but also as a way for my sister to be avenged."
"I can't take your sister's armor," you responded.
Bo-Katan held up her hand, "you remind me of her," she admitted, "Satine was a good and diplomatic ruler, a strong leader with a heart of gold - all things that you are."
"Thank you," you said to her, still running your hands over the armor.
"Put it on," Bo-Katan said, gesturing to a curtain in the back of her tent, "I can help you position the armor plates."
You grabbed the black bodysuit and walked over to the curtain and pulled it on. It fit you like a glove, it was comfortable and easy to move in. You carefully folded your jedi tunic, not ready to be rid of it, but you walked out from behind the curtain confidently.
Bo-Katan smiled at you and helped you position the armor plates, it covered every lethal spot on your body and looked stunning against the black suit underneath.
Bo-Katan tapped the plate on your chest letting the metallic ring surround you, "not even a lightsaber can penetrate bescar," she said proudly.
You admired how powerful you felt in this outfit, how strong you felt in it. "Thank you," you said to her."
She nodded, "you will find the rest of your squad in the armory preparing for landing in the capital city."
You nodded, "won't they see us coming and seal off the dome?"
Bo-Katan smiled, "we have someone on the inside to deactivate the security protocols, and our ships have enough armor to get us to the surface."
"You have thought of everything," you compliment her as you walk towards the front of the tent.
"We have been planning this for a long time," she explained, "I am unwilling to mess up our one chance."
You smiled at her and began to duck out of the tent. "(Y/N)," Bo-Katan called, "we'll meet in the main command tent in a few hours to discuss details of the invasion."
"We'll be there," you said to her with a smile. You strode confidently in your armor to the armory to meet up with the others. It felt comfortable and right for you to be in this military camp, it may not be the Jedi or the Republic, but it was like old times and it felt familiar. If only you knew just how different this battle was going to be.
