You returned to the main cavern of the moon, the battlefield littered with bodies of rebels and stormtroopers alike. You friends walked silently behind you, awaiting your next move. You took a moment to look around the battlefield, it was hard to see the bodies twisted in pain or still bleeding.
You heaved a heavy sigh, "collect your dead, we will need to leave this base soon," you said, "the imperials may come back at any time."
They all dispersed to relay the orders to their people and collect the bodies of their fallen brothers and sisters. Obi-Wan and Ahsoka remained at your side, "I'm sorry (Y/N), I know you have lost so much," Ahsoka whispered.
You smiled at her in thanks, but she could see the pain in your eyes. "I will prepare a pyre for the clones," she offered, "and spread the word for anyone else." She then walked towards the supply rooms on the base, beckoning for Rex and Echo to follow her.
Obi-Wan stood by your side, "I sense something different about you."
You turned to him, nodding, "something is different, I feel different."
He turned to you, a serious look on his face, "you've come to realize the space between the force, no doubt you have realized the world is not as black and white as the Jedi once taught us."
You nodded, "it is like my anger and my peace rose together, it unlocked a new strength for me, power I didn't know was possible."
Obi-Wan smiled in agreement, "and because of it, you are stronger and wiser than before." You smiled at him, thankful for his understanding. His eyes got wide for a moment, he pulled aside some pieces of your torn robes, "this armor..."
You watched as his eyes glided across the colored marble design, memorizing each detail as if he had seen it before. "Satine..." he whispered, almost in disbelief.
"Yes," you responded, pulling his attention, "her sister had it made for her, unfortunately she was never able to wear it."
A tear threatened to spill from his eyes as he relived a distant painful memory. He straightened again, "well there is no better legacy for her."
You smiled lightly, "that's exactly what Bo-Katan said. You should go speak with her," you said to him, gesturing across the cavern to where she stood with Kaska, "I am sure she would like to hear from you."
Obi-Wan nodded, his mind still distant before he walked across the tunnel towards Bo-Katan. You smiled as Bo-Katan's eyes lit up at the sight of Obi. You turned, noticing Bane and Fennec walking towards you.
They stopped in front of you, "thank you," you said with a respectful nod, "I owe you both again."
Fennec smiled and offered you her hand, "you'll hear from me when I need some help."
You shook her hand, "I'll be there, no matter where." Fennec smiled in amusement before turning on her heels and walking towards the back hangar where their ships were landed.
Bane smiled at you and tipped his hat, "let's just be eternally even, little lady."
You nodded in respect and flashed him a smile, "see you around?"
Bane turned but shot a look at you over his shoulder, tipping his hat once more, "I'm sure our paths will cross again, I know you'll never stay out of the fight." He winked at you and disappeared through a side passage and never returned.
To your surprise, when you turned around Hondo and a few of his men stood in front of you, heads lowered in respect. Hondo took a few steps towards you and handed you a small folded piece of paper. "We were moving the clone's body, the sniper," Hondo said, "one of my men found this tucked in the utility belt."
You looked at him confused for a moment, but then unfolded the piece of paper. It was an old battered picture of you and the batch. It was taken on your first mission together, it seemed like so long ago, your smiles so carefree. You smiled sadly at the image, knowing it could never again be like that. But you folded it back up and stuck it in your pocket, "thank you Hondo, for everything."
Hondo smiled and dipped his head, "don't suppose it earns me a drinking date with a beautiful Jedi," he teased, holding out his hand to you.
You placed your hand in his and he gently raised it to his lips. "Unfortunately, Hondo, I don't think I'll be very good company right now."
Hondo shook his head, "well, if you ever find yourself in the outer rim, you know where to find me."
You smiled, "not staying for the pyre?"
Hondo shook his head, "my men don't care much for that kind of thing, besides we have left our stronghold unguarded for too long, we must return."
You nodded, "I understand, safe travels home, my friend."
Hondo nodded and flashed you a smile, before rounding up his men and loading them onto his large freighter. It was getting darker on the moon now, Ahsoka had gathered enough people to begin a pyre for the fallen warriors. You looked on sadly as the people that remained gathered their dead and started moving towards the pyre.
