The landing party still had not began, you wondered what they were waiting for. You turned to the others, "take some time, prepare for battle, when the alarm sounds make your way to the main hangar."
They all nodded to you and went their separate ways. Hunter remained at your side, "we've survived countless battles, what worries you about this one?"
You sighed, "in the Republic, I had an experienced army behind me, now we have normal people with little training fighting against something as organized as the empire."
"We have survived much worse," Hunter replied, "just remember Concordia."
"We only survived Concordia because we were saved by Mandalorians," you paused, letting your own words sink in, "of course."
Your eyes lit up and you ran to the command center, Hunter right on your heels. "What?" he asked.
"We can't win alone, but we are not alone," you replied, typing furiously onto a control panel, "we have friends."
Hunter looked confused, "yes, but the Inquisitor is jamming our transmissions, we cannot send a message."
You smiled at him before pressing a final button, "but we can send out a tracking signal."
He smiled at you and grabbed your face, pressing his lips against yours, "you're a genius!'
You laughed as you pulled away, "as much as I love you, there is one more thing I have to do alone."
His smile faded, "what is that?"
You rubbed your hand along his cheek, "I have to be myself again." His smile returned and he nodded to you, watching you leave the command center.
You slowly walked back to your quarters, letting your mind wander. Once you arrived, you lowered yourself to the floor and closed your eyes. It had been a long time since you actually opened yourself to the force again. You had always had one foot in the door, but it caused you so much pain to embrace it again.
You knew that to have any hope of winning against a force like this, you had to be at your best. Something felt off, but you pushed through and allowed the force to flow fully through you again, allowed it to fill your mind and soul.
Surprisingly, the pain didn't last, there was so much good in your life now, that it hurt less and less until it was gone. Opening up made you realize you were never alone, you felt the presence of other living Jedi, many too young to really understand. But then something familiar pulled at you and you were transported to a forest planet, a familiar figure lurking in the trees. "Ahsoka," you whispered. She turned, but could not see you, "find me, Ahsoka," you whispered again. She smiled and closed her eyes, you felt her warmth as she reached out to you. Through the force you sent her a vision of Polis Masa, of the blockade, of the frightened faces of the Rebels. She nodded in understanding, although no words were spoken, "I'm coming, master," she whispered into thin air.
You let your focus on her slip, you were about to pull yourself back to reality, when something tugged on your mind. It wasn't like finding Ahsoka, this was like someone was reaching out to you. You followed it, allowing your spirit to be pulled onward. You ended up overlooking a sandy planet, a familiar figure in front of you, only this time, it was like they could see you, they spoke directly to you, "I have been looking for you for a long time, (Y/N)."
