You arrived back in your quarters to find all of them awake. They were all huddled over Tech's datapad, whispering away.

"General, we were just discussing what planet to move to," Echo said, gesturing for you to come over.

Hunter smacked Echo on the shoulder, "just because you want to leave does not mean the rest of us do."

You sat down near them, but there was so much on your mind. They all looked at you, "what's wrong, general?" Wrecker asked.

You looked up at them, "there are two paths in front of us, and I am not sure which to take."

They all sat down as you recounted the information you learned from the rebel command. "So we have to decide what to do," you finished, "do we join another war or to go on our own."

"I am always ready for a fight," Wrecker said, pounding his fists together.

Echo crossed his arms, "I, for one, am ready to be done fighting, we should find a quiet farm and live peaceful lives."

Tech, for the first time, set down his datapad, "we were created for war, I don't think we would know how to live a peaceful life."

You looked at Hunter and he shook his head, "I don't know about joining these rebels, but I also don't think a peaceful life is in the cards," he explained, "you said yourself that the Empire would always be able to find us."

"I said the Empire would always be able to find me," you corrected, "if a peaceful life is what you want, you would have to do it alone."

They all looked at you seriously, but it was Echo who spoke, "we would never leave you, general, you have stuck with us through too much for us to go anywhere without you."

Tech nodded, "if it wasn't for you, we would have never been allowed to join the Army of the Republic."

"And if you hadn't saved us so many times, we would probably be dead," Wrecker added, "because Echo is too reckless," he continued with a wink to Echo.

Hunter grabbed your hand, "and without you, I would not be the man I am."

You smiled at each of them, glad for their companionship, but there was still something in the back of your head that made you think you were being selfish. Could you really continually put your friends in danger so that you could be happy?

You finally looked up, "then I will tell the Rebels that we are in, at least for now."

They all nodded and you walked out of the room and towards command again.

When you walked into the command center, it was only Mon Mothma and Bail left sitting at the table speaking in hushed tones.

You cleared your throat as you approached them, "senators."

They both looked at you with a smile, seeming to already know your answer, "hello, general," Bail answered.

"My team has decided to join the rebel cause," you explained, "at least for now, we feel it is the least we can do."

"Excellent," Mothma said, "we never doubted you."

"There is a condition upon our entrance," you added, "my squad and I work together and with our own missions, we will take your guidance but we will make our own plans and lead, we are no longer blindly taking orders."

Mon and Bail looked at one another, amused smiles on their faces. "Of course, general," Bail responded, "we would expect nothing less."

Bail stood and handed you a wrist communicator, "Captain Rex will assist you on your first mission in the morning, it's a simple one, but a good opportunity for you to see the good we do."

You nodded, taking the communicator. Mothma stood up as well, "welcome back to the fight, general."

"I am not sure I ever left the fight, senator," you responded.

She placed a hand on your shoulder, "I suppose not, but welcome to the rebellion all the same."

You smiled at her before walking away and back towards your quarters, "what did I just get us into," you mumbled under your breath.
