You and Rex ran to rebel command followed closely by the rest of the batch. "What is going on?" Rex asked breathlessly.
Bail stopped staring at the hologram and looked at you with relieved faces, "I have been trying to contact you," he said, "no transmission was ever answered."
"We received no transmission," Rex responded, "Rafa was monitoring it the whole time."
"That can only mean one thing," you responded sadly, "someone is cutting off our communications."
Bail looked shocked and terrified as he quickly shouted to someone to take that information to senator Mothma and the others. He then turned back to you with a heavy sigh, "we've decoded a transmission from one of the imperial inquisitors."
"Jedi hunters?" Rex asked in confusion, "I thought they were a myth."
Bail shook his head, "unfortunately they are not," he explained, "perhaps it would be best for you to see it yourself."
He pressed a few buttons on a control pad and a blue imperial insignia appeared on the screen. You did not recognize the voice that spoke, but it was coarse and harsh in tone. "Inform Lord Vader that I have located the surviving jedi I have been looking for, she has escaped my grasp until now, but rest assured her and her friend will be dead in a few days." The voice continued, "I have traced her to a small settlement on the moon of Polis Masa, she is being harbored by a known band of rebels operating out of this sector. I intend to bring them all to imperial justice within the next few days." you stared in horror at the claim of this unknown hunter, "I will not disappoint you, my lord," the hologram finished and shut off.
Bail sighed again, "we have no idea how old the transmission is, but we have to evacuate," he explained, "I have already sent a convoy on my personal ship to leave the system and alert the other cells in this sector."
Hunter placed a hand on your shoulder and turned you to look at him, he placed both hands on your face, "I know what you're thinking, this is not your fault."
A tear rolled down your cheek, "they were hunting me, I have put you all in danger."
Hunter pulled you close to his chest, letting his hand rest on your head, but he looked over to Rex and Bail, "we have to get out of here, the Empire cannot find Omega."
Rex nodded in understanding, "I will stay and help continue the evacuation, take Rafa and Trace please, they need to get out of here."
Hunter nodded and pulled your head off his chest, looking deep into your eyes, "come on love, we have to go quickly."
You nodded and allowed him to pull you along. Tech and Echo were running ahead to prep the ship while Wrecker picked all three girls up and ran with them. They giggled at the playful gesture, but deep down you could tell they were worried and scared.
You ran into the hanger with your ship and looked up at the sky through the shield. It was still a plain sky, but suddenly you stopped feeling a sense of dread in your heart. The weight of what you knew had arrived crushed you, like all your hopes and dreams were taken from your grasp.
Hunter noticed you had stopped and turned to you, "come on."
You shook your head and looked up to the sky, only now instead of the plain darkness there were countless imperial star destroyers in the atmosphere. So many that it would now be impossible to escape without being blown to bits. Another tear rolled down your cheek, "it's too late," you whispered.
