TAY POV
-- A flashback to the 3rd week of New's absence...
I woke up to my phone ringing nonstop. I unconsciously answered it.
"ugh hello?" - Tay
"Tay, where are you? We are ringing your door for 5 minutes now" - Mrs Vihokratana
"Mom? I'm at New's .... Shit I'm sorry I'm sorry mom wait up." - Tay
I immediately stood up and wore my shirt went out. Coming out of New's condo. Which was only 2 doors away from mine. I even forgot to wear my slippers on. Seeing both my parents standing in front of the door.
"Mom? " - Tay
"My goodness, Tay look at you where did you come from. You're even barefoot" - Mrs Vihokratana/Mom
My dad was just standing with a disapproving look on his face.
" I didn't realize we were ringing the wrong door come now let's go inside and fix you breakfast." - Mom
"No, uhh. ... I ah mom" - Tay
It was too late to protest because my dad already made his way to New's unit.
"Oh, you changed interior? everything's white" - Mom
"Mom no actually it's..." - Tay
"Son we need to talk, I have something very important to tell you" - Dad
"Oh hush dear let's talk while eating" - Mom
Mom was rummaging in New's kitchen. Of course, it was clean not a spec of dust since I've kept it how New left, I don't want to be nagged endlessly by it when he comes back.
" I didn't know you were this neat Tay"- Mom
"Mom the plates are in the upper right corner, glasses are below. " - Tay
I saw that mom put down bags on the counter table it irked me seeing the bottom of the bags are a bit dusty, New is fussy about dust in the kitchen. I stood up and helped my mom on the setting things up. While my dad had his gaze on me.
"I'll help you, let me do that instead. " - Tay
I just made her sit and watched me as I fixed the things they bought. Wiped the kitchen counter when I'm done, placed all the bags beneath the cupboards and threw the disposable bags in the trash. When everything was back to its original position. I motioned my mom and dad to come and sit at the dining table.
"You've learned how to manage the house now Tay" - Mom
"ugh mom I just don't want to be nagged okay" - Tay
"By who you're girlfriend??"- Mom
I almost spit the meat I was chewing.
"I don't have a girlfriend?!" - Tay
Dad was looking at me closely I feel like I'm on a hot seat right now.
"Then who's going to nag you?"- Mom
"Ughh... It's New alright he doesn't want me making a mess of the kitchen, he hates dust. It has to be clean." - Tay
I said exasperatingly then mom looked in disbelief around the unit.
" You are living together??"- Mom
"What now?! I am just crashing at his condo right now while he's gone. My unit is just two doors away the one you were knocking awhile ago" - Mom
