"Wow! This looks like paradise brought into life." I remarked as we stepped out of the van.

After two to three hours on the road, we finally arrived at the private resort owned by Darius's family. It had a humongous gate at the entrance where four guards stood. Security was very uptight and alert.

It was probably because I was coming along or maybe it was already there. For whatever reason, I'm just relieved that there is security that is guarding the place. No one wants danger or trouble on their way while they're on their vacation.

"The beach is even better. Let's go and go check on the rooms. We still don't have a room plan yet." Darla conducted like the true leader she is.

She led us inside the building which I presume is where the rooms are. A lobby welcomed us and there was actually staffs walking around.

"They're part of the troops which are designated to work here." Caleb whispered when my eyes kept following the staffs walking around.

He must have sensed my sudden change in aura. I wasn't informed that someone aside from us would be here. I assumed there was none since it was a private property.

"Hybrids?" I whispered back and Caleb nodded.

"They are harmless. They abstained on drinking human blood and finds alternatives like animal blood."

"You can drink animal blood?" I asked out of surprise.

I never knew that. I thought they only drank human blood. That's how stories conveyed vampires a lot.

"We can. Though it's less appetizing at least we don't hurt humans." he reiterated and I couldn't help but be amazed.

"Really? Are all of you like that?" I asked again because it was very amusing for me.

Darius never really delve into the vampire background of his. And I never got the chance to ask. He was just sometimes too busy or the moment wasn't right for that kind of question.

"We all are. There's this part but I'm not sharing it with you. If you have any harmless question, feel free to ask me." Caleb offered and I smiled at him.

He's really nice.

"What are you two whispering about?" Darius came in between us and made Caleb and I have some distance.

"Man, you really are possessive." Caleb commented and went to Giovanni to speak with him about something.

I looked at Darius and giggled a little when I saw him pouting a little. This is the first time I saw him sulking cutely. I tapped his cheeks and smiled.

"I was just asking about the staff. How many rooms are in here?" I asked him but it was Darla who answered.

"Unfortunately, there are only three rooms available. The building was built for a small family only. How do we split up?"

"How about we boys stay in one room and you girls stay in the other room."

"There's one room left. Anyone who wants to occupy it?" Giovanni pointed out.

"I'll take it." Darius announced and was about to grab my hand when Darla got to it first.

Darla grabbed my hand and dragged me to her side. Darius furrowed his brows and looked at Darla. Questioning her why she's pulling me away from him.

"Sydney's coming with us. Let's meet up for an afternoon snack by the beach later." Darla ordered and Darius was still looking at me.

"I'll see you later." I told him before following Darla.

I didn't looked back anymore because Darius was so cute. I may be unable to leave him if he keeps sulking cutely. Totally into cute sulking. I'm bad with handling those.

"Let's prepare our bikinis for later this afternoon." Darla uttered as she excitedly opened her luggage.

"Bikinis?" I asked her and Darla nodded with a smile.

"I brought three pairs, which one goes well with the sunset?" she asked and I inspected the bikinis she brought.

She bought one piece bikini and two pairs of two piece. I smiled and quickly pointed at the navajo white two piece bikini.

"It would go well with those sunglasses." I told her as she was putting her sunglasses into its compartment.

"Thank you, Sydney. How about you? What are you going to wear?"

"Probably just a shirt or something." I hesitated to answer.

I was still shy in wearing revealing clothes. We're close enough but with the guys, I would probably prefer wearing not so revealing clothes. The bikini can wait for next time.

"We went to the beach and you're not going to wear bikini? Bad choice, Sydney." Elvyra pointed out and I already knew that.

I was actually contemplating. We are in a beach resort! How lovely would it be if I wore bikini here? It would be fantastic in my imagination. Fair point.

"I'm still not sure. But I'll think about it." I replied and started removing my essentials out of the bag.

After that, I went to a quick stop at the kitchen. Darla said there were foods and other things by the kitchen if ever I needed something. Or I can just ring the staff. I prefer the first choice.

The kitchen surprisingly had this warm atmosphere like home. It had this feeling like your kitchen in your own house. I liked it.

"How can I help you, Ma'am?" a male staff asked.

I looked at him and smiled. "It's nothing. I just went here to grab something to eat."

He nodded and smiled before leaving me. There were staffs around but they weren't that much. Just a little over four or five. It did not exceed ten staffs for sure. The lodging house wasn't that big anyway so the number of staffs were understandable.

I went ahead and grabbed some cookies I found by the refrigerator. I went up again and slid into a chair by the terrace connected to our room. Darla was quick on her toes and chose the room with a terrace with it.

The view was spectacular. The emerald sea can be seen from here. How lovely. This is how I imagine my life would be in ten to fifteen years. Just chilling and idling my life away.

"Adam and Caleb are readying the fire for barbecue. Any special requests?" Elvyra checked in on me.

"I don't care much. Just don't burn the barbecue, please." I told Elvyra and she gave me a slight nod.

"No burning. Well cooked?" she asked again and I thought to myself.

They must like their barbecue undercooked. So that there is still blood with it. But they can just eat it right away. Do they still cook their barbecue or just eat them raw?

"Sydney?" Elvyra called when I spaced out with my thoughts.

"Well cooked please. I'm good with just four sticks." I told her before she disappeared from my sight.

After finishing at least two cookies, I went down and brought the cookies back to the refrigerator. In the kitchen, I stumbled upon Deacon. He smiled and greeted me while he chopped some vegetables.

"Darla asked me to pass on her message. She said you need to go out now and join them." Deacon informed me and I looked at his knife skills.

"You're great at it. And thanks for telling me." I told him before hurrying up to the room.

I was in a casual wear and I needed to change my outfit to something appropriate with the beach.

Well, at least I think it fits the concept.
