Dance Practice & School Stress

3rd person's pov

Eun-Jae kept up the pace as she learned choreography from Kai, they both were in the practice room at the moment. The two of them were mainly in charge of today's dance practice, as they had a very important event coming up. Everyone else was either on their way or just not able to attend dance practice, when Eun-Jae stumbled over a step, Kai sighed and stopped the music. "I know. I know." Jae panted, she took a moment to catch her breath as she looked at Kai. "No, it's not you. I'm just frustrated that so many people are running late. Our showcase is next month and most of the group barely has the choreography down." Kai picked up his water bottle, took a swig, and wiped his mouth as he looked at the clock on the wall. "I know you're frustrated, Kai. I feel that way too but we're coming up on midterms so everyone is stressed out. I'm surprised that not even Baekhyun and Sehun are here, they usually beat me to practice. We just gotta take it one day at a time, if we start rushing then it's going to all fall apart and our showcase will end up a total disaster." Jae said, standing up straight as she crossed her arms. "She's right, you know?" The two turned their head, both relieved to see Sehun and Baekhyun coming into the room. They threw their bags down on the couch haphazardly, Baekyun taking off his jacket. "Sorry, we're late. Our professor held the class a little longer than expected. He held a practice debate and Sehun got carried away." Baekhyun apologized, Kai shook his head and put his water bottle down. "It's fine, you guys aren't late on purpose." Kai let out a heavy sigh and just as Baekhyun walked over, the door opened, and in walked Hoseok and Jimin. The rest of the boys had decided to sit in on practice since they had nothing to do for the day, Jae smiled as she spotted them.

"What are you guys doing here?" Jae asked, walking over to them. Jin smiled, kissing her forehead as he greeted her. "We had nothing else to do today. Everyone's pretty much got a free schedule so we wanted to come see you at dance practice." He explained.

"You sure you won't get bored being here?" She tilted her head, looking up at Jin.

"Nah, we'll be fine." He said.

"Yeah, listen to Jin hyung, Kitten." Yoongi leaned forward, kissing Eun-Jae's cheek causing her to smile.

"I think it'll be fun watching your dance practice. We don't get to often watch you practice." Jungkook smiled, "Yeah." Taehyung nodded in agreement. "Well, alright. I hope you don't have a problem with my attention not being on you guys while you're here. I gotta get back to Kai, he's stressing himself out." Jae stood her on tippy toes and kissed Jin's cheek, giving one to Namjoon as well. "We'll be fine. Save Kai from himself before he starts panicking." Hoseok smiled, she gave him a peck on the lips and hurried back to Kai.

"Aw, man.." Taehyung pouted, "I didn't get a kiss." 

"Neither did I." Jungkook pouted.

"Oh, come on, you two. Don't be so dramatic. I'm sure if Kit wasn't rushing to get back to practice, she would have kissed all of us." Jimin said.

"Let's go sit down so we're not in the way." Hoseok led them over to a spot near the couch, on the left side of the room. Everyone took their seats, backs against the wall and facing Jae and the others who were standing in front of a mirror. Suho and Chanyeol arrived a few minutes after the rest of the boys had settled in, Seulgi decided to stop by as she wanted to check on how everything was coming along. She smiled at Taehyung, whom she met when she was filling in at the cafe for Chanyeol one shift. She took a seat on the couch, placing her bag on the floor beside her. "How far did you guys get?" Sehun asked, "We only made it to the second song for our showcase. Jae and I have been making small tweaks to the choreography for the first two songs, most of the group has been struggling to get them down." Kai explained, "We'll teach you guys the parts that we tweaked and then we'll run through the second song fully." Jae finished, crossing her arms as she turned to look at the group.

"Shall we get started?" Kai asked.

"Yeah,"

With that, Eun-jae and Kai started teaching the group the changes they made. Hoseok watched over the group carefully, also helping them out with learning the steps that Kai and Jae had tweaked. Although, he hadn't been there when they initially made the tweaks, Kai and Jae showed him the steps and he caught on pretty fast. Jimin also decided to help with teaching choreography but for right now, he was watching over the group as Hoseok helped them.

"Hey Seulgi, what are you doing here?" Taehyung asked, "Eh, I came to watch dance practice to see how things were coming along. I'm helping set up the showcase so I wanted to make sure that everyone was doing alright. We're in a stressful time right now." She said.

"What do you mean?" Jin furrowed his eyebrows, "Well," Seulgi sighed heavily, she adjusted her jacket and brushed back her hair.

"We have midterms coming up within the next few months and a lot of professors have assigned big projects or papers for class. Everyone is basically on edge because of all the work they have. Most of my professors decided to give mini exams and projects to get us ready for the midterms. I'm feeling all of the stress of it and I only take three classes." Seulgi explained, she looked at the group as they started working. "I can't imagine what the rest of them are dealing with. I know that Kai and Jae are the most stressed, they each have four classes, a ton of papers to get done, and a project. On top of that, they are the self-appointed leaders in charge of the showcase."

"Is this the first time you guys doing a showcase?" Jin asked, leaning forward.

"Yeah. It's pretty exciting actually. I don't know how Baekhyun Oppa managed to convince the Arts Director to let them put on a showcase but he did. Our Arts Director isn't the easiest to convince." She smiled.

"Really?"

"Yeah, he's not the easiest to work with either. Not many people like him much. I may not like him either but I am grateful he's giving us this opportunity to put on a showcase."

"I'm excited for it as well. On the way here, Hobi hyung said that he and Jimin hyung would be performing as well." Jungkook smiled, he looked out at the dance floor.

"I can't wait to see that." Taehyung said, "Me too." Namjoon smiled.

Practice seemed to go on without problems that is until Chanyeol started having problems with the choreography that Kai, Jimin, and Hoseok had pieced together. They were running through the fifth song on their setlist and it seemed they were running into more problems, "Uh oh," Yoongi sighed, "Looks like practice is going to run a lot longer than we expected." He said, looking at the time on his phone. "Should we make a snack run?" Namjoon leaned forward, his eyes shifting to his brother and Yoongi. "Yeah, Jungkook and I will go. You guys stay here." Jin stood to his feet, grabbed the car keys, and motioned for Jungkook to follow him.
