I marched my way to his office, kahit nasa elevator nakasimangot ako. I even bumped into one of their blockmates before, I can't even smile with my annoyance with Calix.
I didn't bother asking the front desk where his office is. Dumiretso na ako, I knocked on his door, a little louder than I usually do.
"Come in," I heard him say. He was sitting on his swivel chair when I opened the door, he smiled upon seeing me.
"What meeting you're talking about, Atty. Silva?" I hissed. "You do know I'm not covered with the sanction you're saying since I'm only a temporary employee here!"
He stood up with a grin on his face. "Oh, really? I was not informed, baby. And when did you teach yourself to call me that?"
My annoyance didn't mellow down. "We're in the office. What meeting are you talking about anyway?"
"So, if we're outside you'll call me Cali or baby again?"
"What?!" my tone rose.
"Why did you leave me again?" He asked with his eyes begging for answers.
"I had to catch a flight," I answered. "Anong meeting nga?"
"Tss. Hindi mo man lang ako ginising," may tampo sa boses niya. "This, I just wanna see you."
I breathed slowly. "You called my secretary like 10 times and you're going to say you just want to see me? How unprofessional."
"I wanna talk about us," he said with hope.
"There's no us again," I cleared. "Don't tell me you're thinking we have a chance again?"
"Yes," he affirmed. "Come on, you made love to me, don't tell me that's nothing to you?!"
"Yes! That's normal. Oh, come on. Don't play the angel card here. I fucking know you, you did that before, like casually!"
His jaw was clenched. "That's normal to you? I don't believe you, baby. I didn't cheat on you, you know that by now, yes I did that, but before we happened."
"See? That's normal to you, too. Stop having a lingering emotion with that!"
"So, one night stand lang sa iyo 'yon? You're unbelievable!"
I was about to argue more when the door opened, showing Kuya Patrick. Pumasok siyang nakangiti.
He hugged me immediately. "Hi! Trina!"
"Gago! Kamay mo!" Si Calix. Agad akong binitawan ni Kuya Patrick.
Kuya Patrick's smile remained. "Congrats pala sa kasal mo."
"Huh?" I was clueless.
"You got married last week, right? I saw you in a white dress with a flower outside of a wedding reception." He stated
"So, you're now what, Mrs..."
"That's my friend's wedding." I laughed. Calix's stares of me intensified especially when his friend said that I got married.
"Oh, I thought ikaw," natatawang sabi niya. "So, still single?"
"Bakit irereto mo ba ako, Atty. Saavedra?"
He chuckled. "Just call me the same, tayo-tayo lang naman nandito. Okay lang bang doctor? Reto ko kapatid ko."
I shrugged. "Sino ba?"
