Days were getting colder in the month of February, even getting myself out of bed felt like a task, everything makes me feel sleepy, if there's no job waiting, I'd rather hibernate.
Pagpasok ko pa lang sa opisina, 'yong kaso na naman niya ang narinig ko, the news were scattered all over different departments. Too angry with his decision, I found myself stress-eating again. 'Pag tumaba ako kasalanan niya!
Days continued like that, he was all over the news on TV, the audacity he had to stay calm while I'm being paranoid of everything. But, one story about his case drove me crazy.
I asked Kuya Miggy about Calix's new condo, and I drove myself there, the night was chilly, kung hindi lang ako takot sa pwedeng mangyari kung mapatay siya ay hahayaan ko siya, but someone special to me needs him.
I buzzed to his unit with an assurance na makikinig siya sa akin, subukan niyang hindi, he'll regret it.
"Siraulo ka ba!" Sigaw ko agad noong nakapasok ako ng unit niya, he was crossing his arm on his chest while he watched me keenly.
"I texted you! Sabi ko bitawan mo na 'yong kaso! Gusto mo ba mamatay? Tangina ka! Ilang death threats na na-receive mo, ha?!" Dagdag ko.
"Oh, right! Si Angeliquè nga pala 'yon, s'yempre lahat gagawin mo para sa kanya! Ang gago mo! Hindi mo man lang iniisip na paano ako 'pag may mangyari sayo!"
He scoffed. "You have no right to tell me what to do because you clearly told me that we are not together and I have no right with your decisions too! Bakit nandito ka? Akala ko ba wala na tayong pag-asa kaya we should stop interfering with each other's life! Stop giving me mix signals, ikaw 'yong magulo sa ating dalawa!"
"Fuck you! Tangina ka! I'm pregnant!"
He was shocked for a split second, right after that he went to hug me tight, I heard him, the low tone-cry.
"Sa iyo to!" Sabi ko habang pareho kaming umiiyak.
"I know, baby," he kissed my shoulder. "Alam kong sa akin kayo."
"Paano mo nasabi? We only did it once, hindi mo naman ako kasama lagi. I left you for six years, hindi na ako ang dati mong kilala!"
He chuckled. "No, you're still my original baby."
He then cupped my face and gave me a brief kiss. "You think I can sleep well at night knowing my girlfriend might be taken away from me?"
"We broke up!"
"Did I say yes? No, hindi naman ako pumayag. Baby, I had you tailed for the last six years, hindi ka ba nagtataka na sa ibang bakasyon mo nandoon ako? " He said, grinning.
"Bwisit ka! Sinadya mo 'to! Bakit hindi ka nag-condom? Mommy will freak out, umuwi lang ako dito nabuntis na ako."
Lalo siyang natawa. "Anong sinadya? Malay ko bang mabubuntis ka, apat na taon tayo dati, gumamit ba tayo ng condom? Hindi naman, ah."
I slapped his arm. "Kasi may pills ako. Pero nagpapashot naman ako sa US kasi required kami. Pero dahil sa kakulitan ni Ate Trish na umuwi ako, tinapos ko lahat ng trabaho ko doon, then I forgot! Mapapagalitan ako nito!"
He kissed me again. "Let's get married."
I cried. "Ayoko nga! Papakasalan mo lang ako kasi buntis ako? Bwisit ka talaga!"
"Silly, I'll marry you because I love you. You're pregnant because I love you. So, let's get married."
Another tear fell. "Ayoko nga ikasal na malaki 'yong tiyan! Ang pangit ko no'n!"
