Fitz and Alexandra wrote to each other for months through and intermediary. Cyrus being the intermediary. Everyone involved had let the news and the truth settle in. From letters it moved to phone calls then to a visit. Though Alexandra wanted to meet Mellie, first  and surprisingly she agreed. Alexandra was set up at Blair house so the President and First Lady could move freely and without being seen.

Alexandra stood up nervously as Mellie entered

"Madam, first lady." she greeted her Irish accent thick in the American home.

"You must be Alexandra." Millie began and Alexandra nodded. Millie looked over the young woman and softened "You look like him, around the eyes and the jaw. Like our daughter as well." he gestured to her point

"It's weird to hear anyone say that." Alexandra chuckled a little and scratched under her chin

"You are defiantly his daughter. For someone who wasn't raised by him or even knew him, it's eerie."

"Madam..."

"Mellie." Alexandra looked shocked "You...can call me by my first name." Millie sat down and Alexandra copied

"Mellie." Alexandra cleared her throat "I wanted to see you first because I wanted to promise you, me being who I am. I don't want to ruin anything you've built with Fitz, your children. I'm not a threat, I don't nor will I ever plan to be a threat. I know me saying that may not put you at ease because if the rumours of D.C are true nothing really stays secret forever but. if it does get out I want to be clear no matter what they say I don't want it, I never planned it and I will never encourage it" she ranted then came to a halt.

"Alexandra, when your... when Fitz told me of you, I was angry more than I care to admit. But when I sat and thought about it, I had no reason to be, at you or at him because what happened was before there was even a two of us and he had no idea about you. Fitz is many things but he is a devoted father and I know that if he would have known about you, so would I and you would be apart of this family. I am also reassured by the fact that the last thing you want is to be in the public eye, I've met many who claim something about my husband and want to go public in exchange for money and then all they were saying was a lie. It's actually quite refreshing." Millie grabbed her hands

"So your not mad?"

"Not anymore." Alexandra nodded

-Alexandra-

I sat on the right hand side of Fitz. Jerry sat next to me and Karen across from me. They had been told about me in private and now we all sat down to a dinner. Awkward didn't even begin to describe the feeling between the five of us right now.

"So Alexandra, i heard that you work for the NYPD?" Fitz began to try and break the atmosphere in the room.

"Yeah as a forensics investigator." I nodded answering

"Isn't that all like boring science stuff?" Karen scowled

"Actually it's not. What I do helps the officers in their investigation, from our team we can confirm whether or not they're on the right track, one thing is DNA people leave it everywhere all the time and sometimes the criminals either don't realise it or are just that reckless. We test that DNA against the suspect, it's one of the leading pieces of evidence that puts others away. Us nerds are powerful people." I grinned proudly

"Where do you even learn to do that?" Jerry questioned

"Yale, I moved over here to study there, I loved being here so much, my job and my life, I applied for citizenship, it was granted. Just because something is nerdy or morning doesn't make it not useful. What do you like to do?" I wondered as the conversation began to come naturally.

"Computer games."

"Cool, if you really wanted you could join a cyber division  on counter terrorism  or something like that. Karen." she shrugged

"I don't know."

"That's alright. I didn't know either, the reason I went into my field was because of The Flash DC comics. The main character does what I do and I thought it was cool." Fitz and Mellie chuckled as the awkward tension was broken.
