"Come on Liam chase me!" 10 year old Gabriella gilled running through the gardens of the palace.
"Shouldn't you be chasing me?" Liam huffed coming to a stop. Gabriella saw this and stopped as well.
"No, where would be the fun in that?" she giggled.
There is thrill in the chase sparrow." Robert smirked as he came to join them.
"Don't call me that." Liam grumbled and Robert ruffled his brothers hair. Gabriella covered her mouth snickering slightly.
"Your mother has been looking for you." Robert then turned his attention to his brothers best friend.
"She always is, but she like trying to find me." Gabriella replied as a matter of fact.
"What did you mean there is a thrill in the chase?" Liam wondered
"If a game was easy it wouldn't be any fun, there is no challenge, little brother." Robert told him.
"My mother said father, chased her. Mama says that if a boy is willing to chase he could be a keeper. She said it was one of the reasons she knew he was meant to be with her, whatever that means." she shrugged
"At the talk of your mother, she asked me to come find you. I know you'd be with sparrow here so it wasn't that hard."
"I'm not going."
"Yes you are."
"Want to make a deal?" Gabriella asked with a hand on her hip and Robert folded his arms intrigued
"What deal."
"If you can catch me before I get to the gardens statue I will go to my mother, if I win you have to say you couldn't find me."
"Gabriella." Liam warned his best friend
"Okay, deal." Robert held out his hand but Gabriella smiled and ran off. Robert groaned.
"You didn't think it was going to be that easy did you." Liam laughed. Robert took off running for the young girl with Liam following. Gabriella laughed slightly and was almost near the entrance to the gardens and closer to the statue, when she tripped and screamed.
"Argh!" she landed and in a split second she naturally protected her head causing her to scrap her arms.
"Gabriella!" the boys shouted seeing her go down. They stopped in front of her and Robert helped turn her over, Gabriella was already crying in pain.
"It's okay." Robert said as he looked over her. He noticed the scrapes but nothing else seemed out of place.
"My ankle hurts." she whimpered and Robert nodded, he looked to his brother.
"Find, Lady Anne and tell her what happened, go run." Liam ran off and Robert to the time to pick up the battered and bruised little girl into his arms. he walked back to the palace careful of the young girl in his arms. By the time they reached the palace Gabriella's mother Anne and Father Christopher were already making their way to them with servants.
"Oh Gabriella!" Anne breathed. Robert handed Gabriella to her father.
"She has cuts and scrapes, her ankle hurts she might of twisted it." Robert told Christopher
"Thank you, your highness. Come, sweetheart let's get you checked out."

Gabriella was now 16 as were the twins nearly they were all learning how to dance well Gabby and Liam were, Eleanor stuck two fingers up at the teacher and walked off. The two best friends couldn't contention there laughed overtime the dance instructor kept telling them what to do, and when they tried the instructor got frustrated and it would make the friends laugh even more.
"Are you two upsetting poor Madame Rosemary." they hear the voice of the eldest Henstridge who was now 22.
"Us? Never." Gabriella replied mischief twinkling in her eyes
"I sometimes think you are a bad influence on my brother."
"You do know I'm right here don't you."
"Why is it, that everytime we talk about you, you get all huffy, it's not like we're being mean."
"I don't get huffy." they then started having a do too, do not argument.
"Okay, easy." Robert broke them up then looked away from them.
"Madame Rosemary why don't you take a break." she curtsied and left.
"You're not going to be the annoying best friends older brother and tell us off like we're five are you because if you are I'm going, your his brother, not mine."
"Always quick to make assumptions aren't you Gabs."
"Don't call me that and it's only because you're a goody two shoes, oh Robert did this, Robert did that belch the complimenting is nauseating" Liam covered his mouth and coughed and Robert raised a eyebrow at her.
"You know I was just going to say that maybe you could practice properly without Madame breathing down your neck, she hovered like a hawk."
"We can't Liam keeps stepping on my toes."
"Oi, you don't move them when you should."
"Seriously, for two people who are best friends you argue a lot. why don't you show me." he offered and the two sighed before shrugging and taking their places. They started of fine but then it ended badly.
"Ouch Liam! You're supposed to move you lift foot forwards not your right!" she winced grabbing her foot and jumping up and down. Lima was about to reply when Robert jumped in.
"She's right, you were doing well though, her let me show you." he held out his hand to Gabriella who stared at it unsure.
"Do you want your toes to be safe?" he asked her and she nodded "Well then." he looked down at his outstretched hand. Gabriella touched it and looked at his brother to play the music which he did. The two began to dance not once any toes got hurt. Just as they finished Robert dipped Gabriella down and the two stared at each other. There was a round of applause, the two turned their heads and saw both their parents clapping. Robert brought Gabriella back up and they separated.
"I was um just showing Sparrow how not to step on his best friends toes." Robert cleared his throat and Gabriella made her way to her parents.
"Of course, very well done my son." Helena grinned
--------
It had been five years since the two danced together. and so much had happened, Eleanor, Liam and Gabriella had left their teens behind them and were adults. Though the still acted like every day was their 18th Birthday some times drugs and booze it all came to a head when the death of Robert hit them. The royal family to the death in their own way and Gabriella was there for her best friend even more so that because of said events he was now the heir to the throne, the pressure now fell on him the spare.
Liam looked out from his window as the doors opened and in walked Gabriella. She walked over silently and wrapped her arms around him.
"I can't believe he's gone." Liam muttered
"I know, who am I going to be sassy too now." she lighthearted replied and Liam gave a soft smile and turned to face her.
"Do you remember when we were like ten and I tripped after daring Robert to catch me." Liam nodded
"You tripped and sprained your ankle, he carried you all the way back here."
"After all the times I was mouthy to him, him the Prince of England he still picked me up. You and I are best friends I know that I have aways been able to speak my mind with you and Ellie even though tradition and decorum says I shouldn't but I should have at least respected him."
"I think he actually liked it that you treated him differently Gabby, growing up in this world as a Prince or a Princess, we have so much pressure on us to look and act a certain way, I could see that even though he did a really good job of it, I think like the rest of us he just wanted to be normal and when he'd interrupt our latest argument he felt it even though for a little while" There was amount of silence for them.
"Even though it wasn't meant to be you, I think you'll make a great king one day."
