Outlander - Jamie x oc x Lord John 8

Isabelle returned home, where William, Reinette, Grayson and John were eagerly awaiting. She embraced the children and gave a curtsy to John, at supper William told Isabelle all that had happened while she had been away. Isabelle smiled and listen intently making comments here and there.

"How was France, Belle?"  John wondered.

"Sombre." she answered the preceded to tell them what had happened, her fortune, the estate now a home, meeting the King.

"you met the King of France?" William asked excitedly sitting up in his seat "What was he like?"

"Kind and Kingly, seemed to like me." she replied.

"How have the twins been?" she asked John.

"They have missed you but very well behaved." Isabelle nodded.

A few months later, Lord John had been sent a letter from Jamie, apparently, Jamie's eldest Brianna had found them and had been sent to stay with her Aunt Jocasta at River Run. Jamie asked him to check in on her and deliver a letter. John left Isabelle and the children the next day, Isabelle and William carried on a normal while John was away.

When John arrived at River run, Jocasta had organised a little dinner for suitors for the pregnant Brianna, John was apparently supposed to be one of them and compared to the others, he was in the lead, such Brianna ever wish. it wasn't until after the dinner that John found out the reason as to why, Jamie sent John to her. The sat taking in the parlour

"Your with child?" John questioned though he already guessed

"Yes."

"And this dinner is for..."

"I believe she wishes to make a match so that my child is not born out of wedlock." John chuckled and Brianna looked at him confused.

"My Apologies , it's just having to marry someone because you are with child that is not there's seems a bit, well silly." he admitted. Brianna was taken a back by his answer.

"That's very future modern of you." John smiled softly thinking of Isabelle.

"Well I have a very good teacher. She is also an aquaintence of your fathers, though I think he should tell you about that." John closed his eyes, for someone who prided himself on discretion he wasn't being it now.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm sorry I should not have said anything." John shook his head but before Brianna could question him once more Jocasta entered the room. John said his goodbyes and left them.

A lot had transpired the next day, Brianna had found out John's secret, the tried to blackmail him, which failed. Then she was almost proposed too when John saved the day with a fake engagement. Now the two sat out on the veranda.

"You implied you knew someone like me, an unwed mother as it were. Could you tell me about her." John thought about it, he was apprehensive.

"Please."

"Her name is Isabelle, she is my son's governess." he told her

"And she knows my father."

"You really should ask him about her." Brianna had tried to think why he wasn't being so forth coming, it had bugged her all night and it wasn't until now that the pieces that fell into place.

"I have siblings." she stated "Jamie, he had sex with Isabelle. Did he cheat on her?"

"Brianna." John sighed "Their...relationship, it was brief and while he still believed your mother was dead."

"Yet she still became pregnant." John nodded

"Jamie promised to look after Isabelle but it became complicated." He told her sitting down next to her.

"My mother." she guessed and he nodded

"Belle was sent away to your Aunt in Scotland, while he remained in his place of work, during which time Your mother came back."

"And Isabelle."

"Once they knew each other and what had happened before your mothers return. Belle became scared, she had thoughts that Jamie would be...well it wouldn't end well so she left. That's how we met. She wanted to travel to Jamaica to be with her sister, the crew on ships are very paranoid about women being aboard let alone a woman carrying a child. So I took her on mine."

"That was very kind of you." Brianna commented "What is she like?" John smiled

"A lioness. Fiercely protective of those she cares about, kind, loyal, caring but also stubborn, brash and forward thinking. Many have commented on her being a mother and unmarried, she does not care for such things, I think it drives her more to be different than the women of today. I think with time she might even change the hearts and minds of men."

"She sounds like an amazing woman." John nodded

"So do I have a brother or a sister?" she wondered.

"Both, she had two. Reinette and Grayson, You remind me of Reinette slightly, you both look like your father." Brianna was stunned for a moment as she soaked in the new information. She had a half brother and sister.

"They're almost two now." he added

"I would like to meet them one day." Brianna commented smiling softly.

"I'm sure you will."

Brianna had given birth to a boy now called Jeremiah, Claire and Jamie returned but without Roger but he soon changed his mind and the two were together now planning on returning to Frasers Ridge.

"Actually." Brianna said folding her arms.

"I would like to go to Virginia."

"Why?" Claire wondered

"Because apparently that's were my siblings live." she replied Claire and Jamie shared a look "Oh wasn't I supposed to know that you had slept with someone else and had gotten them pregnant. It took some prying but I guessed and Lord John filled me in a little."

"Brianna...I." Jamie started but was cut off by his daughter

"You what? Decided not to tell me? Think I would be angry? Given the circumstances I think I can let you off, besides I always wanted siblings." Jamie and Claire were surprised by her reaction. Neither he less they agreed to visit Virginia before going back to Frasers Ridge
