festa di riunione- two or more people who come together after a long period of separation.

After I finished showering and getting dressed, I found my way downstairs. I didn't know there was two floors above me. No wonder why Luna told me to find my own room.
There was a lot of hushed whispering, so I followed the direction of the voices.
"Are you two a thing?"
"No, they're just sleeping together, nonna."
"Zitto, Stef," I heard Adonis mumble.
"Did she accept your proposal?"
I frowned as silence fell.
"Then you two are just sleeping together." Stefano sounded amused.
"Mio Dio."
"I haven't proposed."
I stepped away from the kitchen door.
Proposal?
I've only known Adonis for two months! Apart from heated make out sessions, we never took part in anything sexual. There was no way he was planning on proposing to me. I didn't know why he failed to defend my dignity by telling them we never shared beds in that way.
"You are sleeping with her, taking care of her child, and you have not proposed?" I recognized that voice from earlier. It was his grandmother. I could hear the judgment in her voice, and I knew she was Christian.
"Nonna-"
"Wait until your mother and the rest of the family hear about this."
"She already knows," I heard Stefano say. "Father spoke to her."
"When?" Adonis asked.
I frowned.
"Mom assumed dad was cheating again. She wanted to know why he was spending so much time away from home. He told her it was because of the case he was working on."
Oh shit.
"I thought he stopped," Adonis said. "I told him to stop."
I was getting ready to open the doors of the kitchen when Stefano spoke.
"He had to clean up your mess."
"Mi sto perdendo qualcosa?"
I was wondering the same thing, nonna.
"It's nothing," Adonis spoke up quickly.
"I don't want you anywhere near her. She is filth."
The entire room fell silent. I thought my heart was going to fall out of my chest.
"Nonna-"
"I don't want to hear it, Adonis," his grandmother interrupted him.
"Nonna, you haven't-"
"Silence, Stefano," she interrupted him as well.
No one spoke for several seconds.
I felt tears form in my eyes.
"I want her and her born-out-of-wedlock child out of my house before your parents get home."
My eyes widened. Coming for me was reasonable. Coming for my child was unacceptable.
"She is not leaving." Adonis's voice came out strong and cold. It sent chills down my spine.
"Scusi? Are you aware of who you are talking to? She is going to tarnish your reputation, and I forbid it. I am trying to protect you. Do you understand me, Adonis?" Her voice came out as harsh as his.
