matrimonio- the state or ceremony of being married

Adrenaline running through my veins

I'm a skeleton when you say my name

And the high, no, it never goes away

Like jumping out an airplane, or swimming with the sharks

That existential feeling when you're staring at the stars

There's a hurricane in my head, but the lightning in my heart makes it worth it

But I still get nervous

The music paused and I was able to hear the thousands of voices on the other side of the wall when Gaia opened the door.

"They're waiting for you, mamas."

I stared at myself in the mirror for a bit longer.

My dress was long sleeve and off-the-shoulder. Because we decided not to say "Fuck the Catholics," we kept the tradition of wearing a white dress although it appeared to be silver because of the designs.

The dress was long and dramatic, so I didn't want a train. It was spread around me and made me feel like a princess.

There were silver, glittery streaks that made the dress appear both silver and white, and small diamonds and glitter decorated the sleeves and chest area, lessening their appearance as the skirt of the dress continued, almost ombré-like.

The hairdresser we hired pinned my hair into an elegant side-bun after she curled it. We decided to keep my makeup simple since the dress was dramatic enough. She did silver eyeshadow and winged liner for my eyes, and a nude-pink lip before telling me I was too beautiful for makeup. She was the first person I've met that had my exact color of foundation and concealer. At the club, I was always a shade too dark or too light.

Next, she gifted me a beautiful headpiece. It was a simple halo-shaped headband made of diamonds and pearls. She told me she didn't expect me to wear it with my dress so I didn't. Instead, I promised to make it one of my family heirloom and pass it down to Eva when she got married. We didn't have to worry about it going out of style because diamonds would always be in.

"I think you look beautiful, Stella," my friend complimented me with a smile. She stood behind me as we stared at ourselves in the mirror.

Adonis and I's wedding colors were silver, and white with pale blue and black accents. Small things about the wedding decor such as invitations and chair ties were black. The dress code was to dress with our colors, so black or blue ties were also options.

While my friend did not tell me what the ballroom looked like, she did say that there were small ice statues that were obviously ice blue, and other things were what they were; accented.

Gaia's dress was white with a basque-waist bodice design since it was off-the-shoulder.

The dress clung to her thin body and showed the curves of her waist and hips.

"We're going to walk down this aisle, and Adonis is going to think he's getting a two-for-one," Gaia joked the day I showed her the dress I wanted to wear.

Since I had no other friends and I didn't want my mother or father to walk me down the aisle, I chose my friend. She was also my maid of honor and my bridesmaid.

She had her personal stylist straighten her hair, tuck it behind her ears, and slick it back to give a clean, sleek look. Because of her sharp facial features, the hairstyle looked amazing on her. I knew to never attempt it.
