*~*
ciao- an Italian greeting that means "hello" or "goodbye"

"Wake up, baby."

I groaned when the deep, husky voice filled my ears. Warm, dark brown eyes met mine and a bright smile was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. "Buon giorno."

Adonis leaned in and kissed me. "Buon giorno," he whispered before leaning in again.

I swiveled my head out of the way. "Just because you have showered and brushed your teeth does not mean I can excuse my morning breath."

He laughed, his minty breath fanning my face. "I made you breakfast, so this is repayment."

I pouted as my heart hammered against my rib cage. "You made me breakfast?"

"Try not to be surprised," he responded sarcastically.

I grabbed his face and squished his cheeks together. "You're adorable," I squealed.

He rolled his eyes in fake annoyance which made me squeal louder. "You're annoying."

I giggled because his words sounded funny since his lips were squished together.

"Thank you for making me breakfast," I whispered before pecking his lips.

"È il minimo che potessi fare per il tuo compleanno."

My eyes widened and I sat up.

"Eva helped before I took her to school," he said with a hint of nervousness on his face. I blushed.

Today was October 14, my birthday. I never celebrated it before, and instead treated it like any other day. That was my plan today until I realized I had a daughter who knew when my birthday was.

"Thank you, Adonis," I said in a more appreciative way.

Adonis's birthday wasn't for another two months, and I'm sure he believes I've forgotten. In reality, I was wracking my brain for the perfect present because what do you get a man who could have everything?

"What do you want to do today?"

I shook my head and responded with, "Nothing."

"I was thinking of packing a bag and going back to where we started."

I frowned in confusion.

"Tuscany," he added.

Sitting up straighter, I shook my head again as I looked at him. "What about Eva?"

"She wants to stay at mother's this weekend, so I figured it would be perfect. We'll only be away for a couple of days. When we return, it will be time for her competition. She has a phone, so you can just call her if need be."

"What about work?"

"Stella," he dragged my name out as he pulled me onto his lap and leaned against the headboard.

"I do not want you shifting your schedule around for me. I'm not that important."

"I wish you could see yourself in my eyes," he mumbled as he rubbed his hands up and down my thighs.
