"𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐗
𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞?""Aang?!" There was a huge smile that appeared on Sokka's face.
Aang forms a grin on his face, he stretches his hand out for Sokka to shake, well this meeting turned out more unexpected than he thought.
Sokka waves him off, "Oh, please. Drop the formality, come here, dude!" Sokka chuckles as they both stood up and embraced each other in a hug.
"I didn't expect to find you here!" Sokka exclaims happily and high fives Aang.
"To be fair, me either." Aang lets out a soft chuckle. Sokka takes a glimpse at his father and turns back to Aang, "My father can look scary sometimes but I promise he's nice and funny when you get to know him." He whispers and gestures to the king sitting on the throne.
Aang began to process his words, "King Hakoda is your father?!" He almost yelled if he hadn't covered his mouth in time.
Sokka wraps his arms over Aang's shoulders and turns to his dad. "What's the Avatar doing here? You never told me he'd be visiting." Sokka gestures at Aang as he shrugged his shoulders in response.
Hakoda clears his throat. "How do you guys know each other?"
"He spent a couple of months learning waterbending in the Northern Water Tribe. I got to know him and we became friends." Sokka smiles at the memories and removes his arm off Aang's shoulders, "Basically, Aang is my best friend."
"Yup." Aang's smiles, the emotion of their reunion sealed as a perfect photograph in his soul. Similar to when Aang was reunited with Gyatso after a long time.
His smile grows wider just thinking of him.
"So yeah, what's Aang doing here?"
"He's the part of the plan that I was telling you about until our communication was disrupted..." King Hakoda declares as Sokka furrows his eyebrows.
"What plan?"
"I'm afraid I cannot let Katara protect the kingdom anymore. I fear it could worsen her condition." Hakoda exhales deeply, "We lacked military support for a very long time so I turned to Avatar Aang. For help."
Sokka gapes, Aang opens his mouth to speak, "I travelled all the way here to assist in protecting the kingdom, but..."
Aang slowly turns his gaze on the man in front of him as he gulped, "I don't believe the Fire Nation will attack."
Hakoda raises his eyebrow. Sokka looks downcast as Aang presses his lips together at the silence.
"Listen Aang–" Sokka gets interrupted.
"There will be a celebration ceremony in your honour, Avatar." Hakoda ignores his son speaking. Aang shakes his head no immediately.
"There's no need to, Your Hi–"
