Something troubling has been nagging Katara for the past few hours. She sat alone in her bed while her brother, Sokka, and Aang took off after King Hakoda requested their presence to discuss war strategies.

Of course, they wouldn't allow her to join the meeting, and by they, Katara implied her father.

She was so delighted to hear that her father was safe after not knowing what happened to him these past few days. Hakoda has taken the majority of villagers and citizens through the undergrounds to safety where the Fire Nation couldn't reach them.

She didn't learn the precise location yet, but Aang did say they were still at the South Pole. However, that was not explicit enough for Katara to understand. She assumed she knew the Southern Water Tribe inch by inch but, clearly, she does not.

Katara groans as she hits her pillows and murmurs some inadequate words. The waterbender quickly shook her head, she should be setting her focus on the hidden side of the South Pole, but her brain could not bring itself to.

Right now, defeating the Fire Nation should be the first priority. Yet, after risking everything to save Sokka, something inside of her was devastated. Needless to say, there were consequences for pushing her body over the limit.

Katara clenches her fists. She couldn't accept it, because there was no way.

She lost her bending.

The door opens, and two familiar heads stick out as they whisper to her, "Can we come in?" Sokka and Aang ask with huge grins on their faces. "We're booored. Save us from the boredom of royal duties, Your Highness!" They proceed to joke to lighten the mood.

She had to talk to them, they had to know that she hasn't got her bending at the moment, or else they wouldn't take it well if she told them later. But if she did, they probably wouldn't let her leave this room anymore, practically compelling her to feel trapped all over again.

Katara slowly nods. "Yeah, come in." Her voice seemed to break down, being strong was so exhausting for her.

"You good?" Sokka closes the door behind him once they entered while Katara exhales.

"I'm not sure, anymore."

Aang's eyes soften. "Sorry we had to go to the meeting without you but it was urgent with everything going on." He quickly walks over to her making Katara inhale sharply. "Are you cold? Should I make something warm for you?"

Katara blushes and clears her throat. "I'm used to the cold but, er, sure. Thank you, Aang."

A small smile emerges from Aang's face. "I'll be right back!" He announces and hurriedly makes his way out of the room.
