"𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍
𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐬"If Katara's blue eyes were the gateway to Aang's soul, then her lips are the same thing for his body. Her lips are the softness, passion and forecast of sweetness to come.
Before Katara, Aang always considered alternative lovers. He was faithful and yet there was always a plan B. Now, even without her, there is only love for her.
And so now, for the first time in Aang's life, there are no plans at all... Because Katara must be free. Love must be free. So all plans halted. It is as if his soul has stopped the search it has been on for a time that feels like forever, as if it no longer sees or seeks a path, yet sits on soft grass upon a gentle hill.
It was the simplest thing for Katara, with her eyes and voice, her touch and sexy confidence to take what no other ever could. It's not that Aang didn't want them to, he has wanted a love such as this for forever, it's simply they weren't able to as if his soul was in a different room and they didn't have the key.
Katara had it though. She had it as if the Spirits put it in her pocket with a whisper and a four-leaf clover. In a way, when Aang met her, he was stunned. His soul had been alone so long it was hardly unsettling to unexpectedly have company. To find or seek another would be condemning himself to a lifetime in darkness, knowing full well what he hid from himself before.
They could never go back, could they? Once they felt the real thing. All these memories of their time together. It's all so silly. It's all so real. It's all so frustrating. It's all so painful. Aang wouldn't have it any other way. If he had to suffer and endure through this war so be it. Though if he could wish for a magic carpet to bring Katara here with him, he would. He'd wish it and wait by an open window.
Katara's lips were as good as her eyes in painting a picture of her emotions. Though her lips were pretty, it is the feel of them that sends Aang's mind into a sensual state of intoxication. That's why he reached over Katara's face, in that moment of confusion, he touches them lightly before the urge to kiss her takes over.
When Aang encountered her lips, Katara felt her brain stuttering for a moment and her eyes take in more light than she anticipated, every part of her goes on pause while her thoughts catch up as she hears the sound of her heart skipping a beat.
Her hands rested gently upon Aang's chest. She wanted to kiss him, surprisingly she did, but she couldn't bring herself to as she pushes Aang away.
"Aang, I'm sorry but... I can't kiss you back. It's not right..."
Oh.
Aang was unwanted. It was like his love was a unicorn but Katara didn't believe in unicorns, and so that was the start and end of their story. Maybe, some things are only real if you believe they are.
