"𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘-𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍
𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬""Under no circumstances, you are to leave the building!" Hakoda yelled at his daughter, Katara, who was currently getting checked up by the Healers. "Not even the building, stay in your room and never leave unless I allow you to."
"Dad, you're exaggerating!" Katara yells back.
"No." Hakoda raises his hand to halt her. "If you think I'm exaggerating then fine. But I'm dead serious when I say you're not allowed to leave nor enter the battlefield."
Katara leans forward to stand up for herself but Sokka places his hand in front of her to prevent her. She glares at him shaking his head as he mouths 'No' to her. But she didn't listen. "This is not fair, I'm not dying! You guys need me!" She looks at her father. "I promise I'm getting better." She whispers.
"What was that?" Hakoda narrows his eyes.
"You're just scared what happened to Mom is happening to me so you think locking me up in here is going to change what's happening to me." Katara sniffs. "You don't even know the things I'm going and went through, either."
"Oh? So I can be notified again that my daughter is losing blood at the very last minute?!" Hakoda curses under his breath because of how rebellious Katara can get.
Sokka kneels in front of her while taking her hands in his, kissing her knuckles. "Katara... There's no need to keep it a secret anymore." He looks at Hakoda and back to Katara again. "Tell him." He whispers, inflicting Katara to shake her head as a response. "Don't worry, I'm not going to leave your side, okay?"
Katara takes a deep breath and slowly nods. The Healers excuse themselves out of the room as they comprehended not to listen to a personal matter between the family, letting them talk through their issues.
"Dad, I..." The princess peeks at her brother who gave her an encouraging smile before getting up and standing beside her. "I, um..."
"This better not be another attempt to change my mind, Katara." Hakoda warns. "What is it?"
Meanwhile, Aang stood behind the door, clenching his fists. He wanted to check up on Katara and see how she was doing but he couldn't and it was stressing him out how long it took to wait for his turn.
"Dad, just give her some time." He hears Sokka say.
Katara swallows hard and meets her father's gaze. "A few days ago I discovered I've..." She began to fiddle with her fingers and Sokka rests a hand on her shoulder to give her an optimistic squeeze. "...I lost my ability to bend water."
