"𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐘
𝐮𝐧𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬"Katara jumps when she notices a tall figure just a few feet away from her. An incredulous look was evident on Aang's face, the kind that stopped Katara in her tracks. It was those familiar silver eyes that caught her off guard.
As Aang does a low, over-the-top bow towards her, his mouth shadowed with a hint of a smile.
Unable to believe her eyes, Katara runs to Aang. Katara breaks into a smile as she allows her excitement to take over her at the sight of Aang. She'd been looking forward to this for so long. It had been so long. Far too long.
They melt into a hug, Aang sweeps her off her feet and kisses her. His lips are warm and soft which made Katara's skin prickle into goosebumps as his fingers glided over her back, bringing her back to her feet.
Aang pulls away, a grin glued to his lips. "Hi, sweetie."
Katara smiled but when he said those words, her face drops when she met his gaze.
"Um, I..." Katara was at a loss for words, her heart pounded in her chest so loudly she couldn't hear her thoughts. Seeing him so close for the first time in two years felt so bizarre for her. She didn't acknowledge how unprepared she was to confront him again.
Katara curses under her breath before turning her heel, determined to walk away and hoping her heartbeat would come back to normal and she'd stop panicking.
Aang feels a tug in his stomach, like gravity, pulling him towards Katara as she turned to walk away.
Without hesitation, Aang grabs her arm before he could even think twice. He gently pulls her closer, her back hitting his chest as he wraps his arms around her, shielding Katara with his body.
"What... Are you walking away from me now?" Aang chuckles but the sound of it showed his heart wasn't in it, feeling backstabbed after Katara attempted to walk away from him.
Aang's voice makes Katara turn around. Which was a hefty mistake when she realises how close their faces were with Aang's arms still around her. She turns her head forward, blinking rapidly to keep the tears at bay. She fights the impulse to smash his lips with her own as she removes his arms from her.
"I can't do this." She mutters, attempting to walk away once again but Aang still stops her. With a lack of force, Aang backs Katara up against the wall beside them, bracing himself with both arms on the wall.
"Hey, it's me... Aang." He says but Katara avoids eye contact with him or she fears she would give herself to him. Aang frowns, "I don't understand, you kiss me and push me away without explanation... You won't even look at me– Are you afraid to face me?"
