"𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐘-𝐒𝐈𝐗
𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐞?"Katara sobs loudly.
Aang's face softens. "A– Are those happy tears?" He chuckles, suddenly feeling anxious. "Please tell me those are happy tears–"
Katara throws herself at Aang, causing both of them to fall to the ground. Fortunately, neither of them was hurt.
"Are you okay?" Aang asks, worry written in his eyes as Katara sobs.
"That was..." She speaks. "That was so beautiful."
Aang smiles, propping himself on his elbows as he leans closer to Katara. "Not that I don't like having you on top of me, because I really do..." He teases. "...But your lack of response is really freaking me out here, sweetie."
Katara caresses his face. "Aang... I love you too. So so much." She responds. "Of course, I will marry you!"
Aang wasn't aware he had been holding his breath as he lets out a long exhale, tension leaving his shoulders while his body relaxes. Before he knew it, Aang collapsed on the floor.
Katara giggles. "Thank you." She sobs once again.
"No, thank you!" Aang sits up, pulling Katara onto his lap as he did. His eyes scan her face until they settled on her lips with a hungry expression. "You, my love, just made me the happiest man in the world. In the whole universe!"
Katara's eyes soften. "You just took the words out of my mouth."
Aang smiles. Katara returns the smile as she looks at him, his eyes already glued on hers. Their eyes were locked onto each other, Katara moves her hands to his face and caresses his cheeks. At that moment, her heart feels like it's flying and the world seems to stop.
Katara hears the soft whisper of his breath as he exhales. "May I... Kiss you?"
She has been focusing so much on his face that she nearly missed the part of what he was asking her. "Do you really need to ask?"
"Of course not." Aang mumbled breathlessly against her lips. "I just wanted you to say it." His lips twist into a faint grin. Slowly, he brought his lips on Katara's. He was firm and gentle as he pulled her in, burning her lips with his mouth. His tongue darted out to meet hers and soon, it was harder to kiss, because he was smiling and so was Katara.
Aang couldn't describe it with words. Since the day he met Katara, it felt like she always pushed him to be a better man, it was like she could see inside his soul and he could see hers. There were times Katara infuriated him and amazed him, she was resilient and remarkable. Nonetheless of all that, Aang fell so hard for this woman.
