Stars light the sky like snowflakes in the sky making Katara smile. Feeling the wind blowing her hair, Avatar Aang flew Princess Katara to the place he knew the Fire Nation troops haven't invaded yet.

Appa's barn.

With the help of his glider, Aang flew to the ground and landed safely in front of the barn, miles away from the castle. They step away from each other as silence stood between them.

Aang guessed it was okay to feel awkward, he'd rather feel that way and be real than any other. He watches Katara like she had stars in her hands and soft petals at her feet. He wanted to wrap her in his arms and never let go, if only he knew Katara was thinking about the same thing.

But first things first, they had to engage in an actual conversation rather than standing awkwardly but Katara's nerves were so bad they shook at just the thought.

She said some hurtful words to Aang the last time they spoke. When he needed protection and healing, she stubbornly managed to insert her pain in his pain, she knew that's where she messed up.

"Please, talk to me." Katara whispers in a soft tone of voice.

Aang drops his glider making Katara startle a little bit but regains her posture immediately.

Katara wore a face like she was expecting anger from Aang, anger that just didn't exist. All he had for her was love, all he wanted was to keep her safe in his arms.

She won't accept it just yet, she feels so much misplaced guilt. In truth she's just a kid, still growing into her adult body. Aang liked that she wanted to own her mistakes, but she needs to forgive herself too. Until she does that she'll never let him in to help her heal.

"These past few days I went through hell, Aang. I didn't know if you were safe, I didn't know if you made it out before you'd see all this, I didn't know if you hated me or not which made me crazy just thinking about it. But nothing was more painful than watching you walk away after hurting you when you had enough pain to deal with so please, please, talk to me because I missed you more than ever and–"

Before Katara could draw in the air her body needs, the warmth of his body meets her cold skin, giving her reassurance like he always did before the war.

"I missed you more, Princess." Aang whispers causing Katara's eyes to water.

The constellations, who'd witnessed centuries and millennia just the same, watched over this tiny moment.
