I found Dolores waiting for me with some clothes in her hand before saying, "I heard what Antonio is planning, and your ripped skirt will not be appropriate..."

I blushed taking the clothes before saying, "Gracias Dolores but I have a change of clothes..."

"Mirabel made it for your birthday... she was planning on giving it to you then, but I told her what Antonio was planning and we thought it would be better suited for oyu now..."

I blushed and nodded before going back to my room. I changed into the dress. I looked at myself in the mirror and found myself smiling. I did a small twirl befoer I heard, "wow."

I turned to see Antonio standing there. I blushed and said. ''How long have you been there?"

His cheeks flushed and he stuttered, "No! I didn't. I swear. i would never...."

I laugh and shake my head. I took my hair of it's bun and braid it. Antonio walks over and that butterfly feeling returned. Then he hands me a bouquet of Marigold flowers. I smile and he says, "I know your trying not to use your gift... but I still assumed Marigold were your favorite..."

I smile taking a few of them out and weaving them into my braid before I put one on his shirt. He blinked again looking around before I ask, "what's the surprise?"

He smiles and says, "Well we have to leave the casita for that..."

I nod and he puts his hand on my lower back leading me downstairs before finding Pepa and Julieta. I stood next to the front door while Antonio told them that he was leaving Pepa and Julieta peaked around the wall and I blushed looking a way. They sent each other a glance before shoving Antonio towards me and saying, "have fun!"

Antonio just shook his head and we left. I kept my gaze low once we entered the village, not wanting to watch  the people that were avoiding me.  Antonio waved and happily talked to people as we passed.

Eventually Antonio said, "here! Here!"

He took my hand pulling me over to the river. I found a cute little picnic set up. His leopard was protecting the food from the other animals. But when we got there hit sat and looked at us with a sort of smile. I laughed and Antonio said, "you never actually ate lunch... so I wanted to surprise eyou with a picnic..."

I sit down and say, "it's perfect Antonio, Thank you..."

He nods and sits down. I asked him about how his chores were going in the village. I let him talk about himself while I ate before he says, "what were you planning on doing after you stopped using your gift? Your door hasn't stopped glowing yet, but I have watched it get dimmer..."

I looked up swallowing my last bite of food before saying, "I have been working on decorating my room to make it a little more inviting... I'm spray painting one of the walls... Luisa is helping me make lights to hang in my room... so that was my goal... making my room feel more homey.  Abuela didn't really give me a chance to personalize my room because she always kept me busy..."

Antonio nods before I glanced over ot see Abuela walking towards us. I shook my head standing. I walked to Warner spatting, "no. No you will to ruin this for us."

Antonio stood, I'd forgotten tha the could se ever too until he walks over and says, "Abuela?!"

She looks at him and says, "Antonio... stay away from Atlas. She is no good for you..."

"I[m standing right here!" I spat

She pushed me out of the way and I jsut crossed my arms, Abuela and Antonio argued for a solid ten minutes before Antonio says, "I don't care! I love her Abuela."

Abuela fell silent and I blushed a small smile finding it;s way onto my face. Antonio walks over to me and says, "i want to be with her Abuela, and your not going to change my mind..."

She got an angry look before getting in my face and spatting, "You will be the end of this family... I don;t know why the casita choos eyou... but there is something wrong with you. And I promise I will find out what it is. Antonio will not be brought down by you..."

My cheeks flushed and I knew my eyes had begun to glow so I flicked my hand and watching Abuela turn into marigold petals. Antonio lord a time in surprise and I say, "don[t worry, I just sent her back to the land of the dead... she'll be stuck there until I grant her access back..."

He tilts my face towards his and he says softly, "your eyes..."

"Yes they glow..." I say

"Their beautiful..." he says softly

I blushed before I put my hand on top of his. I liked. Feel of his hand on my cheek. His leopard rubbed up against me pushed my closer to him and we both froze for a moment as our faces were were inches from each other.  However the moment was broken when we heard, "oh. my. god."

We scrambled back but space between us and I found ti was a Rosa and Mirabel.  It was Rosa that he spoken though.

Mirabel was giving us a mushy look, while Rosa had one of shock. Then she quickly spat, "You tow are disgusting."

I shift and A to it out an arm around my waist before saying, "get lost Rosa... leave us be... it's none of your business..."

She got a hateful looks before looking at me, she splashed the bucket of paint that she was carrying on me before saying, "you are disgusting and vile! I don't know what hole your crawled out of when you were a baby but you need to go back to it! I wish you'd died with your parents. Your ruining our family!"

Mirabel quickly covered Rosa's mouth and I wiped the paint off my face before saying. "I don't understand Rosa. I don't understand what I did to you to make you hate me... we used to be best friends..."

Antonio wiped some paint of my cheeks and arms while Rosa cried,"You stole my door! You stole my day! My birthday isn't even my birthday anymore!"

I shook my head before crying, "do you think wanted this gift Rosa? The village looks at me like I'm a monster! I see the dead walking around. I feel the mourning of families that have lost, I feel the pain of the dying. I would've been perfectly happy letting you open that door and get your own gift... but that's not how it happened... I'm sorry that I hurt you by taking your door, and I'm sorry that your parents are so hard on you, yes I know, Bruno told me... but hurting you was the last thing I wanted to do... Siento haberte lastimado, Rosa. Eras mi mejor amigo." (I'm sorry I hurt you Rosa. You were my best friend.)

Then I started walking back towards the house.
