40 ~ Atlas's POV

I watched disappointed fall across Antonio's face and he said softly, "You are coming home aren't you?"

I blush and say, "I don't know yet..."

He lets go of my hands a look a disappointment and shame fell over his face. As if I'd tricked him or something.

I put my hand on his arms dn say gently, "Antonio."

He pulls back adn I realized the moment a moment ago was shattered. Gone. Erased.

He backs up and pulls on the bottom of his poncho before saying, "I need to get back to Eliana and talk to Mirabel about your dress."

Then he turned and walked away. I waited until he was gone before groaning and kicking a chunk of grass befeor sitting and hugging my knees.

I sat there a moment before hearing, "your acting like a child."

It was my mother. I rolled my eyes and say, "mom I'm really not in the mood..."

I do the spell to slip into the realm of the dead before standing and looking at her. She crosses her arms and says, "Why are you giving up? You love him."

I shake my head and say, "because I have broken his trust. And every time we start to rekindle I do something to hurt him again. I will go to Eliana's gift ceremony, but I think that once it's over I might leave for good..."

Mom shook her head and did something that shocked me. She slapped me. I gasped and looked at her in shock before squealing, "what was that for?!"

Mom crosses her arms and snapping, "I don't understand... i don't understand your thought process... you love him. You have ran to me, crying and whining about how much you miss him more times then I can count. You mention his name in every single letter you sent to me at least once. But when you finally back here in Encanto your just going to let him walk away?"

My cheeks flushed and I sob, "this is a situation I can't fix mom! I dumped a baby on him and left. I cheated him with his brother, and then left. I pulled and pulled on his love for me and then left. Mom there is nothing I can do. I have hurt him over and over and over again... i;m shocked he can even stand in the same room as me. Yes mom, of course I love him. But there is nothing I can do without making it worse."

Mom shook her head beofer glancing behind her. My face burned in embarrassment. Antonio was standing there looking at me, holding a marigold flower in his hand. He was watching me with wide eyes.

I covered my mouth and squeaked, "you weren't supposed to hear that..."

He walks over to me looking at my mom who backed up. I glared at her befoer Antonio puts his hand under my chin and brought my attention back to him. He took a few shakey deep breaths and says quietly, "Do you really love me Atlas?"

I nodded and Antonio took a deep breath before kissing my forehead. Then he says, "Atlas, you are the second greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and though your right, I am hurt, nad my trust is broken, please stop being so hard on yourself... Atlas all I want to know is what can I do to make you stay? Stay in Encanto, stay with me..."

I blush and say, "Make up with Camilo."

Antonio hesitated befoer asking, "really, seriously, that's your price?"

I nod before saying, "and fix my fear of parenthood."

Anotnio chuckles and say, "you act like Eliana is some alien or something. Eliana is the sweetest little girl you have ever met, I promise you."

I blushed and smiled before my mom walks over and puts one hand on Antonio's shoulder and the other on mine, "You two are too precious of a couple to let yourself dwindle..."
