46 ~ Atlas's POV

I backed up before Antonio asks, "did you give Eliana her present yet?"

I shook my head, "no. She asked me but I wanted to give it to ehr later..."

Antonio nodded before saying, "why are you so nervous and antsy all the time?"

I blush and say, "which do you want? The answer to the countless different times I've had this conversation in my head or the honest, honest answer..."

Antonio looked at me cuioursly befoer saying, "honest, honest."

I take a deep breath before saying, "I've been kinda overwhelmed lately. I went from doing whatever I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it, and acting on impulse, back into the life of the familia Madrigal. And sure I wasn't lying when I said I missed it becuase I did, but Antonio, I was able to do whatever ri wanted for four years. No one standing over my shoulder telling me how to act or how to behave. No pressure. No parenting. No stress. But then I was kinda just thrown back into normal life. And plus everyone seems to have expected me to jsut jump back in, and get into the flow of things. I am having a hard time... Again, four years Antonio. You all have slightly different rules. And slightly different customs. I don't know, I've just been over whelmed and over stimulated... and last night, was a huge distresser, not that I used you to destress if that's the impression your getting. Because trust me, I enjoyed it. But last night we talked and drank and relaxed... that helped me prepare a lot of today, or I'm sure I would've been wirey and jumpy."

He cut me off by kissing me. I've found that;s his new tactic. If I start rambling or talking for to long then he jsut kisses me.

I made a small sound of content and let him pull me forward before he pulls back to let us catch our breath and he says, "Atlas, why didn;t you tell me..."

I blushed and said, "I did, after about three glasses of wine."

Antonio rolls his eyes befoer shaing, "i would've been happy to help you readjust."

I smiled sadly and said, "this is something I need to work out for myself Antonio."

He sighs and nods reluctantly before letting me go. I backed up and smoothed out my dress before saying teasingly, "your going to wrinkle my dress..."

"Oh yes because that's what you are worried about." Anotnio teases before taking my hand and walking me out.

When we got out into the hall we were bombarded with questions about decorations, guests, and food. We answered them all befoer I kissed Antonio;s cheek and went downstairs. I found Julieta and Mirabel putting the finishing touches on the cakes. I smiled and gushed, "awe, guys, it looks so good!"

They smiled at me before Mirabel says randomly, "with no questions asked, what is your ring size?"

I blushed and laughed, "that's random, Mira. I'm not really sure, generally I just try on rings until they fit."

Mirabel's nods and says, "random is what I do."

Then she walks over to me and measures my ring finger before jotting the measurement down on the back of her hand in ink pen I rolled my eyes. Mirabel is a creature in and of her own making. I looked around Julieta to find Eliana covered head of toe in bright blue frosting, with continuing to eat it out of the bowl. My heart skipped a beat and I think Julieta saw my panic becuase she says, "oh, don't worry Atlas! I put her in one of Camilo's old poncho's, her dress is clean!"

I calmed down adn said softly, "that's good. That;s good."

Then I walked over and cleaned her up, wiping off her hands, arms, and face before carefully slipping off the poncho. Then I wiped off my own hands. Finally I took Eliana's hand and gently shoved her out of the kitchen. She reluctantly left so I just shook my head. After that I turned and asked, "how are the red velvet cookies coming?"

Pepa smiles, pulling the tray out of the oven befoer saying, "how dare you doubt my sister's cooking abilities..."

I laugh and say, "I apologize, how dare I doubt."

Eliana came back and whines, "when are we eating Breakfast?"

I pick her up and say, "I swear you have a bottomless pit for a stomach. I look at Julieta and she says, "The cake is almost finished, once it is I'll start breakfast."

I nodded before she leans on me and says, "Where'd daddy go?"

I turn and looked around before seeing Antonio upstairs talking to Antonio. I went up there and set Eliana down letting ehr run over to Antonio. He quickly scooped her up and held her while continuing his conversation. I smiled. He is such a good father.

I took a deep breath leaning on the handrail. Suddenly I saw Bruno attempting to sneak out of the house. Mirabel stopped him though. She talked ot him before glancing up at me. I blushed and tilted my head slightly. She just turned back to Bruno though before letting him go.

I went downstairs and asked Mirabel, "what was that about?"

She takes a deep rbeaht and says, "He's going to do a vision. He wanted me ot tell you to go with him."

I nodded and said, "tell Antonio?"

She nods and I leave.

Bruno was waiting for me outside. When I got out there I blushed and said, "Hola Bruno..."

Bruno and I haven't really talked since our agreement. He knows I stole the vision but he had no proof.

He puts his hand on my back and leads me out to the river. I sat down while he did his little routine. Then he sat down and took my hands. He took a deep breath before the sand began to swirl. I watched before quickly realizing this the was vision of today. He wanted me to see it.

It started with the ceremony going relatively well. Pepa and Julieta took over Abuela's role in talking about the gift. Antonio and I were standing upstairs waiting for Eliana. When the light turned ot her though she wasn't there. ***the vision time jumps*** i find her hiding in my room, she was crying and scared. I brought her out and to teh door. Antonio convinced her to go through with it. She touches the door. ***another time jump*** the villagers are looking at her in fear and Anotnio was now holding ehr, trying to sooth a shaking Eliana. I turned and lost my temper. I apparently lost control of my gift and the next thing I knew there were spirits everywhere. The villagers ran in fear and the house erupted into chaos.

The vision ended and Bruno held the vision in his hands but quickly put it down taking my hands. My eyes were teary and my stomach felt queasy. Bruno squeezes my hands, "this is what I was trying to tell you Atlas."

I ran my hand through the sand before saying quietly, "this is why I shouldn;t have come back..."

Bruno shook his head pulling me to my feet and hugging me, "no Atlas. That's not what I'm getting at. Pretty much vine is glad your back. But atlas you're temper and emotions have always affected your gift... I jsut don;t want you to ruin Eliana's night..."

I back and spat, "you sound just like Abuela. 'Ruining Eliana's night'. Did you not consider that maybe she wants me there and not being there might hurt her more?'

Bruno blushed and said, "Atlas."

I glanced around me and saw a couple spirits around me. No one I recognized but they all looked like they were ready to defend me.

I blushed and Bruno says, "Atlas, I know Alma suppressed your gift and worked you to the max. She did that to all of us. But as your able to experiment, your gift is growing and getting stronger. I just don't want anyone getting hurt."

I cross my arms and snapped, "well I guess it's nice to finally hear someone else admit I'm dangerous."

Then I turned and walked away before Bruno calls after me, "Atlas! Atlas wait, that's not what I'm saying..."

I pulled my hair out of my face and said, "I don't hear what you were trying to say, then."

Bruno sighed in frustration and says, "at least think about it Atlas."

I rolled my eyes and walked past the casita towards the village.
