Eliana looked at r hands sheepishly as I scolded her for running away. I didn't like scolding her. This was my least favorite part of parenting her. But if I don't then she won't learn. Her eyes got teary but she didn;t say anything.

When we got back to teh house a look of relief washed ove r everyone's face but I carried her straight inside and to ehr room. She had the most pitiful look on her face. I took a deep breath before saying angrily, "Your ground until I tell you that you came come out ok Eliana..."

She nodded so I turned and left. Shutting the door behind me. But I hesitated for a moment before leaning my head on the door. I could hear Eliana start to cry. My stomach dropped and I just stopped there until Dolores said, "come on Mi vida, come eat... she's home, and she's ok..."

"She ran into Atlas..." I said quietly letting Dolores coax me downstairs, "but she doesn't even recognize her... I don't know if that means I'm doing a good job of hiding Atlas or being cruel in not letting Eliana know who her mom is..."

Dolores sighs and says, "There are very few right and wrong decisions with parenting Tonito. It's your decision whether she knows about Atlas or not... Atlas left Eliana with you, and I think Atlas dropping in to see Eliana will come around to bite her..."

I  nodded and when I got outside I got several hugs before turning and making myself a plate. I had dropped last one when I realized Eliana was gone. I sat down  and eat listening to everyone talk about wha they'd gotten done for the day before it finally came around to me and I said, "I helped the fishmen catch some fish and helped a family get rid of some mice in the home, I took care of a couple of animals on the farm."

They nodded before I excused myself and made Eliana a plate. I took it upstairs ot her. She was sitting sitting on her bed, hugging her knees, he cheeks tear stained. I gave her a pitying look before setting her lunch on her desk. She walks over and sat down to start eating. I looked at her hair for a moment. Staring at the marigold flower. I ran my thumb over it before sighing and I began unbraiding her hair.

Finally her breath got shaky and she built up to courage to ask, "are you mad at me daddy? I don;t want you to be mad at me..."

I shook my head and replied, "no. Not mad... just disappointed.. you scared me Eliana.. I didn't know what happened to you... your very luck that woman found you..."

Eliana nodded and ate one more arepa before adding, "she was pretty... she had ginger hair like me daddy... and her eyes were a pretty blue... did I see a ghost daddy? You don;t seem to believe me... and I was in a grave yard..."

I sighed sadly and answered, "no Eliana... she was a real woman... she's just, a spirit of the village at this point..."

"So she is a ghost?" Eliana says before stuffing a churro in her mouth, leaning back to look at me.

I smiled softly and broke a piece off the end of the churro that was sticking out of her mouth before saying, "No. she's not mi vida."

Eliana looks at e in alarm acting stole that piece of her churro. She ate th Ernest of the piece she had before leaning forward. I shook my head.

What was I thinking? She's a kid. And it;s not like anyone in Encanto is goign to hurt her. She said she was chasing a butterfly... I'm jsut being butt hurt about atlas and taking it out on her.

I gave in and squeezed her should saying, "finish your lunch and take your dishes to the sink,  and then you can go out and play with the others, ok?"

She nods eagerly and I left.

I slipped downstairs and it wasn't look beofer Eliana burst past me to go play with her older cousins.

I just laughed and shook my head, walking with Dolores and Mariano to return to the village.

I walked down to the graveyard, pretending as if I were following some sort of animal. I looked around but I didn't see Atlas. I gave up and walked backed towards village center.

Isabella was talking to Rosa. Rosa seemed happier. That's honestly the happiest I've seen her since she was a little girl. As soon as her gaze fell on me though ir]t hardened again and she scoffed and walked away. Isabella gave me a guilty look beofer following Rosa.
i jsut shook my head. Not my problem , not my issue.

I sat on the fountain and just watched the buzz of people coming and going. But my mind began to wonder back to when I was a teenager. I remember the days of chasing Atlas around the fountain as she ran. Eventually she'd a;ways fall in so I dive in after her. Camilo would occasionally join in those games but he was already dating Katrina by the time I was fifteen. Atlas was only ten.

I chuckled at the memory before hearing, "Hola Antonio."

I looked up to I see Sophia, holding the hand of wha ti assumed was her son. My cheeks flushed a little but I stood and said, "Hola Sophia. It;s good to see you..."

She blushed and nodded tucking her son behind her as if I hadn't already seen him.

I shook my head and said, "Is this him?"

She nods and lets him come around to her front. He looks up at me, and to my surprise I found the boy looked a lot like Diego.

I almost wanted to laugh. Diego and Sophia. I would've never guessed it. I guess I always assumed Deigo was so infatuated with Atlas that he hadn;t be around block.

I shook my head before saying, "Holo Senor. What's your name?"

He blushes and says, "Angel."

I nodded and said, "Angel, I like it."

Suddenly I felt this presence near me. Like I couldn't pin point it. It was like burning jealousy. That feeling young ehr wen you know your significant other is watching you talk to someone of the opposite gender. Atlas was around somewhere. She just couldn't show her face.

I wante dot call her out, forcing ehr ot show herself. But I knew if I did that, I would most likely just yell at Atlas. So Instead I said, "Angel, what's your favorite animal? Hm?"

His eyes lit up and he says, "I think your leopard is really really cool... but momma won't let me go near it. So I decided lemurs are my favorite."

I stood and looks at Sophia. 'Really? I purposely l keep Lia calm to in order to let kids touch her..."

She blushed. Her whole face turning scarlet before saying, "I wanted to keep him a way from you, we didn't exactly end on a good note, so I didn't want to just bust bakc into your life..."

And there it was. The unspoken words always speak the loudest.

Her crush on me had rekindled after four years of seeing me without Atlas.

I shook my head before whistling a loud high pitched whistle.

Lia came running but stopped at my side. Angel looked at her in amazement before looking at Sophia for approval.Sophia nodded and Angel quickly wrapped his arms around Lia, hugging her neck before petting her.

Sophia and I sat on the fountain. At first I was hesitant, but then I felt it again. That burning jealousy. The anger.

But this time I could practically feel Atlas. She had to be sitting on the other side of me. There was no way that she wasn't.

I took a deep breath, before I gave in and started flirting back. If Atlas thinks she still has the right to be jealous over me moving on then she[s wrong. And I need to prove it.

Sophia blushed when I flirted back until I heard, "erm, Tonito, can I talk to you please?"

It was Camilo. I was hesitant before nodding and excusing myself. I let Lia leave before following Camilo.
