51 ~ Antonio's POV

I sat with Eliana in my room and watched her run around with Lucas until I began to wonder where Atlas went. I sent Eliana and Lucas out to the commons to play before going outside. I saw Atlas sitting on a log next ot the river while Mirabel's sat next to her. She seemed to be sewing Atlas's dress. I walked over and said softly, "Atlas?"

She looked up in surprise but quickly looked away in shame. But I'd already seen it. Her black eye.

My eyes went wide and I came around to her front asking worriedly, "Atlas what happened?!"

Mirabel's glanced between us before saying softly, "I'm going to let you two handle this one..."

Then she left. Atlas stood and hugged me. She was shaking. I held her and gentle kissed the side of ehr head befoer aaying, "Atlas, mi vida, who did this? What happened?"

She looks up and says softly, "I did this to myself. I never should've loved him."

My eyes widened and I cup her face in my hands, "did Camilo do this?!"

She started to cry and said, "He wante dot scare me..l so that he and I wouldn't love eachother anymore... and it worked, Antonio... but I don't want to be scared of him..."

She hugged me tighter this time burying her face in my chest. I felt my eyes darken and my eyebrows furrowed though.

I gently pushed ehr back and stormed off for Camilo. She gasped and tried ot chase after me but she couldn't stop me. She grabbed my arms to pull me back but I swung my arm causing ehr to fall. For a moment she gasped and I saw fear flash across her eyes.

My face softened almost instantly nad I said quickly, "Atlas I'm sorry..."

She just stood and slid off the ring shoving it at me and crying, "Don[t do anything stupid and don't forget this is supposed to be Eliana's birthday. Let me be the one to ruin it."

Then she stormed inside.

I took a deep breath and looked at the ring. I looked back at Camilo and I felt anger, and frustration that he couldn't just leave Atlas alone. However I also found ti slightly admirable how he was trying so hard to break that bond that him and Atlas share.

I walked over so Camilo said quickly, quietly, and harshly, "can we do this later?"

I took a deep breath and say, "I'll help Atlas with her black eye, but thank you from breaking that bond...''

Then I went inside.

Atlas was hiding in the kitchen with Julieta and Bruno. Julieta was letting Atlas eat some arepas to heal her eye while Bruno and Atlas just seemed to be talking.

I walked over and Atlas looked away. I walked over to her and took her hand putting the ring back on her and kissing her cheek before saying quietly, "I told Camilo thank you. I didn't do anything stupid."

Than I turned and went to find Eliana. However when i turned around I found myself face to face with Rosa. Rosa was staring at Atlas before her and Atlas's gaze met causing Rosa to stutter, "y- your back..."

Atlas nodded hesitantly and I found myself kind of positioning myself between Rosa and Atlas in case anything happened but Bruno grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the way.

Atlas stepped forward slightly and saying, "Rosa I forgive you, for what you did all those years ago... and I hope you can forgive me for taking your door when you were younger. I don;t know why the casita didn't give you a gift... I didn't really want a gift... but I think about you just about every day... and I'm sorry I let them send you away, this was your home before it was mine... and-"

Rosa shoo-k her head and hugged Altas, causing Atlas to fall silent and the three of use ot to watch in shock. Atlas hugged her back and then Rosa backs up and says, "I was cruel to you, when we were younger... I'm  jealous... and spiteful, and I spent my whole life unable to see the good in just being normal. But staying with mi Tia in the village, forcing me to live away from the miracle, was really good for me... it forced me to live a normal life. A life I grew happy with... and it made me grateful... and it made me feel sorry for you... made me put into perspective the pain you've gone through... so when I found out you elf there castia I began to think about what I would say, if I ev saw you again... but all I could manage to muster is I'm sorry. I really am Atlas."

Julieta had a warm look before turning to me a saying, "why don't you go find Eliana? Hm?"

I took a deep breath and nodded. I found Eliana hovering near Mirabel's, asking her a million questions about what it was like when we had the candle.

I shook my head and said, "Eliana sweetheart come here..."

She ran over and picked her up saying, "You mother needs you..."

Eliana nods and smiles looking around and holding out her hands towards the humming birds that were flying around my head.

I just smiled and Carrie d her into the kitchen. Rosa looked at us and says softly, "You must be Eliana..."

Eliana nods and looks at Atlas and reaches out, "Mama..."

Atlas takes her and Rosa's eyes widened. Then she stuttered, "she's... yours?"

Atlas nodded and says softly, "she is..."

I looked at her fondly and Rosa looks at us before snapping, "Antonio can I talk to you?"

I shook head, "no. Rosa. No you can't.. .and here's why... tonight I have heard every criticism, every smart comment about me sleeping with Atlas... every comment about Eliana... I'm done... I'm sick of it... Atlas and I made the decision to sleep together, we took the risk... and we ended up with a beautiful little girl...I din't want to listen to it anymore. I love Altas and I love Eliana..."

Rosa nodded and took a deep breath saying, "I'm sorry."

When I looked at Altas I noticed she was watching me with a prideful look. I blushed and rubbed my neck saying, "I;m sorry Rosa, I didn't mean to snap at you.. just I little tired..."

I saw the sly smirk cross Atlas's face and I sent her a sharp look before Rosa says, "no I get it... I would've probably h snapped too fi I were in your position..."

I nodded before Pepa's voice interrupted and she said, "We're ready to start the ceremony..."

And with that I watched the anxiety settle into Atlas's face as she set down Eliana.
