31 - Antonio's POV

***Roughly Nine Months Later***

I sat at breakfast listening to Grace and Jose talk about their day in the village. Camilo watched his daughter run admiration while rubbing Katrina's back. She was pregnant again, but this time they are expected to have a boy.

Dolores walks ove rna flicks up Jose's plate before saying, "well you two seemed to have a very eventful day!"

They laugh and Dolores picks Jose up before saying, "Come on, Bath time..."

Jose complains but went along.

I finished my meal before going inside. I took a shakey depp breath looking at Atlas's door.

It's been almost exactly nine months Since she left and the rumors of Atlas have swelled the point hardly anyone remember her, and those who do, struggle to remember fact form all the lies.

The children of the village look to her more as a mythical being now. Since she's been gone she has fine tuned her gift, and to be quite honest she is one of the more powerful if not the most powerful of us with gifts.

In a matter of two weeks she had managed to sweep through the village and heal everyone ending the sick season.

However no one knows where she goes after she heals people, she just disappears.

I shook my head. She walked out of my life. She doesn't deserve to have me still missing her. I set my dishes in the sink before going outside.

I squeezed Lela's shoulder before saying, "I'm going to get back to work..."

"Ok Tonio..." she says putting her hand on mine squeezing it

Then I walked back for the village. I used my gift to make sure that donkey's stayed in the barn, convince the chickens to lay eggs, and calm cows that were being milked.

After a while I got kinda bored so I walked down towards the river. I sat down before I heard, "Hola Antonio."

It was Mirabel.

I glanced at her before saying, "Hola."

She sits next to me before saying, "How are you?"

"I'm ok Mirabel... you can stop checking on me. I've moved on..." I reply

She gives me a pitying look, "you don't look like you've moved on..."

I sigh and look at her, "Uou know... she wa sores ant when she left... and todays the nine month anniversary of her leaving, but her due date would've been two weeks ago... it makes me wonder what the baby looks like.:. What gender it is... even what she named it. But I'll never know, because at this point she's more of a story then a person."

I reply picking up a rock and throwing it into the river, "she was hurt, and upset... but she was a good person..."

My eyes got teary and Mirabel stands hugging me and saying, "Awe Tonito..."

I hugged her back but blinked back the tears and said, "it's not fair Mirabel... she was a really good person who had a really hard life... and now I fell like everything good she did has been smothered underneath stories and rumors... now I can't see my baby..."

Mirabel backs up and says, "it's ok to miss her Antonio, you don't have to hide it, everyone knows you miss her..."

I nodded before Mirabel says, "Come on..."

She takes my hand and starts dragging me back towards the Casita.

Mirabell dragged me up to Atlas's room before syaing do it."
