When I got downstairs, I saw Dolores watching me. She had a pitying look in her eyes. She walks over but I just snap, "don't."
I set Eliana on the blanket and just stared at her. What did Atlas mean she has my eyes? Eliana clearly has blue eyes.
I glanced at Camilo he seemed to be distracting himself by dealing with Grace, who seems to be having a shapeshifting malfunction, while also entertaining Lucas, who was attempting to climb on Camilo's back to sit on his shoulders.
My cheeks flushed, this was all his fault. If he had screwed up my relationship with Atlas then she'd still be here.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard, "she reminds me of you, Tonito. She has that same curious spark about her."
It was Pepa. I turned to her and said softly, "what am I going to do Mama? Atlas doesn't want to raise her... I can't raise Eliana all by myself..."
Pepa gave me a gentle smile, a small cloud forming on her head, but she countered her frustration with Atlas by saying, "But your not alone Tonito... you have your familia, and I'm sure there is more then one person here willing to help you..."
Mirabel and Luisa smiled at that statement. Camilo, Katrina, Isabella, and Victor all sort of stepped back though, sheepish to the idea. Bruno, Julieta, Augustin, and Felix all nodded though.
I sighed and looked back at Eliana. Lia was propped up on a. Chair not, smelling Eliana.
Eliana giggles and reaches out petting Lia's ear. Lia's eyes widened and she started to purr, rubbing her head against Eliana, allowing Eliana to now touch the top of Lia's head. I shook my head and Lia declared, "my baby."
I chuckled and put my hand on Eliana's stomach jokingly stating, "I guess I'm stuck with you now kid..."
Eliana giggled and put her hands on mine. Giving me a wide smile. Something in her eyes, and I'm not sure how, just sent a reassuring look over me. As if she was telling me it was going to be ok.
I picked her up and said, "Eliana Madrigal, welcome home."
