I heard people laughing at me as I walked back towards the house and I happened to pass Luisa who was carrying donkeys. She gave me a pitying look and th t just embarrassed me further. I made it back to the house but I just stood outside looking at the house.

So much has happened in this house. I found myself unable to go inside so I jsut urned and walked into the woods behind the house, since the house was rebuilt a pathway was build to the river where Abuelo died. The whole family usually goes there around the time he died all those years ago, to memorialize him. I jsut sat next to the river and listened to the water.

I stayed there for hours, until the suns tarted going down. No one was calling for me.... I assumed only Antonio was even looking for me. I wondered if he told Bruno...

Eventually I laid down and fell asleep. When I woke up I found I wasn't cold at all. I looked over to see Antonio's leopard was laying against me. Keeping me warm. I looked around to find I was still alone. I sat up and the leopard stirred looking at me. I pet her befoer saying, "I guess your going to tell Antonio where I am?"

She nods and I sigh. She stands and gently bites my arm, tugging me towards the house. I pull my arm out of her mouth beofer saying, "alright... alright..."

I stand and follow her back tot he house. The house was dark so I though sneaking back in was going to be easy but I was met by Camilo who was sneaking back to his room with the jar of cookies.

We both froze befoer he says, "I won[t tell if you don't..."

"You act like your still a teenager." I whisper

He smiles and says, "Pepa still treats me like one..."

Then he went upstairs and I watching him slip into his daughter;s room. I slipped upstairs and I was about to go into my room beofer I saw Antonio's door was flickering. He was upset...

My stomach dropped and I walked over, hesitating outside the door before I lost my nerve and I turned around and slipped back into my room. I changed out of the dress, regretfully throwing it away before lookignnint he mirror. I sighed and pulled the flowers out of my hair and found the rest of the bouquet had been laid on my bed. I wanted over picking up to find a rat ran out of it. It stopped and I snapped, "no. Don't you dare. You were planted weren't you. Nod for Bruno or flick or tail for Antonio..."

It did both and I attempted to grab the rat but it was to fast for me and I watched it squeeze under my door and when I cracked the door, I found it was running toward Bruno's room.

I quickly closed the door locking it and pulling on a night gown before grabbing the bouquet of flowers and running across the bridge to my hideout. I climbed into the hammock and made one of the flowers glow. I watched and waited. My bedroom door eventually opened and Antonio and Bruno came in. Antonio cussed quietly under his breath while Bruno said, "She's gone..."

"Clearly... but so is the bouquet..." Antonio sighs putting his hand on my bed

Bruno put his hand on Antonio's shoulder befoer syaing, "we'll find her Antonio... I think she was finally jsut pushed to far..."

"Look who raised her..." Antonio jokes, nudging Bruno

Bruno shook his head before I held my breath as a stuffed animal fell out of my hammock and made a small noise when it hit the ground.

Bruno looked towards me, hearing the noise that Antonio didn't, but I knew he couldn't see. I covered the glowing flower though and I knew I'd been caught. Bruno started to walk over and Antonio says, "where ar eyou going?! I thought that was off limits?"

"She took me across... it doesn't go to the land of dead..." Bruno says before. walking across, Antonio following behind me cautiously, more anxiously

I sigh and stood, picking up the door and when they got across I made the petals glow and float around the room. Antonio's eyes widened and he hugged me. I hugged him back, befoer he whines, "why?! I was so worried..."

"I know... I know..." I say softly, "I can;t really explain it... I just had a really strong impulse to not come back..."

Antonio shakes his head before Bruno says, "What happened? Rosa was really quiet when she got back... we only knew that it was her fault from Mirabel..."

I sighed lookin at Antonio before saying, "Antonio took me out for a picnic and when Rosa caught us she freaked out and showered me in paint...in attempted talking to her like you said but I don't know if I actually got through to ehr..."

Antonio sighed pushing my hair out of my face before saying, "you did... after you left she fell silent before rlooking at the paint bucket in ehr hands... she broke down in sobs. And kept crying that she wa sorry... Mirabel and I got her back to somewhat of a composed state before her we brought her back to teh house... that's where I found out that you hadn't returned..."

I nodded before Bruno takes me from Antonio and asks, "are you ok? Where were you? You have been gone a long time.. I mean you missed dinner..."

I sigh and nod befoer saying, "yes... Antonio's Leopard found me and she was cuddled around me, keep me warm. I was down but the river where Abuelo died..."

Antonio and Bruno nod before Antonio looks around. I laugh before syaing, "I caught Camilo stealing the cookie jar from the kitchen when I got back... he still acts like a kids... it's funny..."

Antonio nods her saying, "being mature is not one of my brother's strong suits."

I nod before The rat ran over onto me and I say, "sneak little thing... I tried ot catch him before ran off but he got away..."

Antonio nods and says, "He said he had a mission to accomplish"
Then Antonio started laughing and we look at him curiously befoer Antonio finished, "it was better then being part of Bruno's novelas..."

Bruno's cheeks flushed and I snickered before taking rat off my shoulder and giving him back to Bruno.

Bruno glanced between us befoer getting a snide look adn saying, "Mirabel said that you two were oddly close when they caught you.."

I blushed and said, "Antonio's leopard tripped me so Antonio had jsut caught me"

Antonio decided to finish with, "and we were both sort of stuck in the moment by surprise..."

"Uh huh... uh huh... I see how it is..." Bruno said a smirk on his face as he sent glances between us. I cover my face and whine, "Bruno stop it..."

Bruno laughed and said, "You two make fun of Camilo for acting like teenagers but your no better..."

We shake out heads before Bruno turned and siad, "we'll I'll leave, just in case the leopard trips you again... wouldn't want to be here for that..."

My face burned with embarrassment and I'm sure I looked like a tomato so I quickly flicked my hand and marigold petals gather behind Bruno rushing him out fo my room befoer they returned.

Antonio's face was flushed too but he was laughing. He puts his hand on my cheek and says, "I don't think I've ever seen anyone's face turn that shade of red..."

I roll my eyes attempting to calm down but seemed to jsut be making it worse, I jsut sighed and said, "I'm sorry Antonio... I wasn't;t trying to run from you... or from Bruno... or from any one to be honest... I just wanted to be alone..."

Antonio shook his head and pulled me in, kissing me. I froze from surprise before I gave in and kissed him back. He took me in his arms before we backed up slightly and he says, "we never got to finished falling into each other..."

I smiled and say softly, "no. No we didn't..."

And with that, he spent the night in my bedroom.
