(Jayden POV)

Ever had a moment in your life where you wish things hadn't changed?

You wished to be that girl that was bullied, never accepted by anyone but your Mums....

Wished you were normal?

I do

I do so much

It's not because I'm now physically deformed with a missing ear and very noticeable deep scars on my face

It's not because I received the longest lecture of my life from my mates about being, irresponsible

It's not because I got an even longer lecture from my parents, when they returned from the attack when they saw me. In all honestly, it was confusing at the start. Mum cried and held me tightly too her chest, Ma cried even more and held us both, then they yelled and cried some more

There was a lot of hugging

No....It's because they returned without alot of our people, Uncle Sacrow being one of them

I begged them to bring his body back so I could save him, but High Priestess Magnola said it would've been too late, his soul would've already crossed over

It was a melancholy atmosphere when everybody returned....we won, but lost so much

No one ever talks about that in the history books. They talk of all the things we gained from a victory, but never tells of the losses we had to have achieved it

Maidens Canyon was now a cemetery. The bodies of the fallen buried, never to return home

High Priestess Magnola said that the people of the Temple will take care of the Canyon, make it a protected site so the fallen can rest in peace

Barker was sad for his mate, Perry had lost so many of his unit that you could tell it was going to take a while before he was somewhat....okay

Perry felt guilty....guilty that he lead his unit to their deaths. He went into the fight thinking they would all make it home....he was wrong

I saw him clutching the dog-tags close to his chest, the tears that fell weren't hard to miss

Grandma was lost. She sat in her chair in the livingroom and just wept, I didn't dare approach her....

I knew this was my fault

My Uncle Gerado was a surprise though. He was missing a limb and most of his face, but he was smiling. A young blonde man was wrapped around his good arm and was smiling at my Uncle, Whispering sweet things into his ear

He finally found his mate

It was....nice

When High Priestess Magnola noticed the carnage of the Temple, she instantly went to work in fixing it and making sure everybody was okay

Even after a great battle, her work is never done

I looked around the room of my family and friends, and couldn't help the tears that were falling from their eyes, even my parents were heart broken

"So what now?" I asked quietly, hoping not to incite anyone's anger or cast even more sorrow upon us

"We prepare" Uncle Gerado said in a more gravelly voice than before "Once we start hitting the other strongholds, the Grand Master will come for us"
