I waited for a hour or two for my mind to calm down but it never did. I can't help but to feel out of the loop whenever I'm here. I know he's stuck here because of something he did but no one has told me what it is. Honestly, I'm a little afraid to ask. When Brine asked about me meeting Ed the first time, he made it sound like this happened all the time. Like I'm not the first 'rabbit' to befriend him.
So what happened to the other one?
My mind went back to all those broken rooms and my frown deepened. Why destroy an entire room for no reason? Why destroy several rooms for no reason? Maybe he's just more violent then I thought? Withe tried keeping his rage in check around me, who says the other powers don't do the same. Maybe it's time I actually looked for answers instead of ignoring it.
"I do have time to spare..." I mumbled. Eddy won't be back for another few hours and I can't ask him when he's just respawned. I got up and left a note on Ed's bedside table. "Back to Notch's it is."
Ugh. I was hoping for the calmness to stay.
Kinda.~~~
"Your back early." Notch hummed.
"Yeah, sorry. I had a question." I answered. "I can come back later on if your busy."
"Of course not. We both know you won't anyway." Man, I hate his all-knowing BS.
I closed the door to his office and he didn't even look up from the glass block beside him. Despite my worry, I couldn't help but to stare. It showed a bird's-eye-view of an entire map. He pinched his fingers together and the whole thing zoomed in. Is that how he always knows what's going on in the Overworld? He noticed me staring and chuckled, waving his hand to dismiss the image all together.
"Ask me anything, dear."
"I'm surprised, Notch. You haven't read my mind already?" He rolled his eyes and motioned for me to sit down.
"You all make it sound like I always do. Even I need a break sometimes. So, what is it?" I sat in the chair in front of his desk.
"Why is Ed realm locked?" Notch sighed heavily and I felt a little bad for asking. "Don't worry, I'm not here to convince you to let him go or anything. I just... really want an answer."
"I want to say I'm surprised Endie hasn't told you, but he'll listen to anything Ed asks of him, so it wouldn't be hard to keep him quiet." Notch answered. "So, before I tell you, are you sure you even want to know?" I gave him a confused look and he explained. "This isn't a nice story, and whatever I tell you might paint Ed in a bad light. Other then Endie, your the only one he's wanted to talk to in decades."
"Notch, what did I say earlier?" I sighed. I'm getting a little tired of people seeing me as some kind of beacon. I'm not. I know what I've gotten myself into, I know what they all do. It's hard to stay ignorant when your the one they vent to. "There is very little you can say that would upset me. And yeah. I'm sure. If I'm really sticking around you all for my forever, I'd say something like that is pretty important to know."
"Huh. I like that answer." Notch smiled and I returned it. His didn't last long. "Fine. I'll tell you, but don't say I didn't warn you."
"So. Where are we starting?"
"Depends. I'm sure you've connected some dots already. What do you know so far?"
"Barely anything. They've been keeping it all under wraps pretty well, even your brother."
"Now that one is surprising." I rolled my eyes and leaned over to tap him on Brine's behalf.
"Ed told me he got on your bad side by destroying a city or two, it's still weird to say that so casually, and I'm pretty sure there was another 'rabbit' at some point. How Brine put it, Endie has been looking for another 'sacrifice' for a while."
"He seriously said that?"
"He seriously said that." Notch glared towards the door before looking back at me. "So. What did I get right?"
"You've got the basics down, but he lied. It was more like five cities in one year, and that isn't including the several anger-induced tantrums he took out on the world. Granted: most of them were valid, but at the time he had anger issues that could rival Wither's. I needed to teach him a lesson."
My eyes widened. Five?! And what does he mean tantrums? He glanced at me before looking away and I frowned. He looks so upset. Ed made it sound like he was being strict and cruel but all I see is sadness. I guess he started listening to my thoughts again, because he looked up at me with a sad nod.
"Yeah. I am. It isn't easy to lock a friend away like that. I know I created him and Wither, but their still considered friends and family to me. Being the only handful of immortals does that to you. Most of their friends or girlfriends willingly give it up once a break up happens, so there's only ever really been us four and Endie's group."
"Then why did you do it?"
"Because this time, it was for a girl."
