Despite wanting to finally talk to Creeps and Bones, people started to come in for the breakfast rush. Dang it, I almost got to. One minute I saw them waiting till the rush died down and the next they were gone. The rest of the day was slower, small groups of people coming in in bursts or curious visitors to the city waltzing in. Around sunset I closed up shop for the night, debating where to go for dinner or to just toss something in the furnace. Hmmm, I'm in the mood for-
"Anna!" I heard behind me. I turned to see Creeps running down the sidewalk towards me, Bones and Endie not far behind her. She almost barreled me over in a hug, making me laugh. "Sorry we had to leave so quickly, we had some errands to run."
"It's OK, it's not like you had to stay." I answered, hugging her back. She let me go and Endie smiled. I know I hear him complain about them a lot, but I can tell he's a lot happier with them here. I wonder if he'd even admit it if I asked.
"Closing up for the day?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yep. Dinner sounds great and I finally get to sleep in tomorrow." Endie held out a box to me, the smell of my favorite fried cod from Benny's blowing towards me. "Your to good to me, Endie."
"I figured you'd like it. Mind if we eat with you?"
"I'd like that."
We went back inside, the perks of not having to walk in the front door not lost on me, and headed upstairs. My house is actually right above the bakery. It's small but I've always liked it better that way. I silently thanked past me for being smart enough to clean up last night. Usually after practicing a recipe the dishes would still be in the cauldron and every counter would be covered in the containers of ingredients I was using the night before.
"Your day off is tomorrow? Geez, I'm out of it this week." Endie mumbled.
"What do you usually do on those days?" Creeps asked. She's been asking me a lot of questions, ranging from when did me and Endie meet to what color was my favorite.
"Anything, really. Shopping, sleeping in, gathering what I don't feel like spending money on." I shrugged, finishing the rest of my food. He really does spoil me, he does this every other week. "Sometimes if I take more than a day off I'll head to the beach town over past the birch forest. That way I can relax and don't have to worry about coming back till the next day."
"Ugh, that sounds great right now." Bones said, abruptly. I giggled as Creeps elbowed him. "We never go out to the sea anymore."
"I'm an enderman still."
"No one said you have to come in-"This elbow was harder and delivered by Endie himself. Bones cringed, lying his head on the table.
"Don't be mean, Bones." Creeps scolded. "That's like me throwing you into a desert that's sunny 24/7."
"Noted." He grunted.
"Maybe we can all go together next time." I smiled. "The water isn't everything. The town is pretty fun at night and I own a beach house right up front."
"Absoultuely! Tell us when your going next, OK?"
"Of course, Creeps." I giggled. She has more energy than me but I cant help noticing it comes in bursts. But I'll admit, seeing her energy is a little overwhelming, especially. Since it's all directed at me-
"So how did you and Endie meet?! I bet it was adorable!" My face burned and I could tell Endie's did, too. Not like it should.
"Creeps. No." Bones sighed, hitting her upside the head lightly. She pouted/glared at him but he ignored it. "Their just friends and you know it. Stop it."
"But seeing her blush is cuute- look, so is Endie's."
"Your embarrassing them, why wouldn't he?"
"Fine, I guess." She focused on us again, thankfully calmed down. "I still want to know, though. Did you two know each other before the bakery or after?"
"A little bit of both, I think?" I asked, looking up to my tall friend. He nodded and I continued. "It's a bit of a blur but on my way here, I got ambushed. Endie saw it and stopped them, dropping me off at the hospital in this city."
"Why is it both than?"
"We didn't formally meet each other until weeks later when he was checking up on me. We didn't even know each other's name yet but by than my bakery was already up and running. Well, my shack, but he helped me get this building."
"I knew it'd be cute." Creeps chuckled. "But you attached to her pretty quick, don't you think?"
"Whatcha mean?" I asked Creeps but Bones answered, equally as entertained.
"Enderman and hybrids can only teleport to those they become attached to. Good or bad. Locations are easy, but people are difficult. Especially for a hybrid." Endie looked away, attempting to ignore all the looks he was getting from them.
Pft, only if they knew he's gay. I poked him and he begrudgingly looked my way. I smiled brightly and nudged his arm.
"Don't worry. I got attached to you pretty quickly, too."
"... Thanks, Ann." He sighed, patting my head. He got up, grabbing his own plate of food with him. "Welp, I think I've been embarrassed enough for the night, see you tomorrow."
"Bye-"
"It's your turn to visit us next time! Remember that!" Creeps exclaimed, hugging me tightly. I laughed and agreed, letting go before she even thought about it. I know she doesn't mean to be, but my god, she already scares me.
