Endie's POV

Wow, his timing is terrible. She just met Creeps and Bones and now all she's going to remember is how my friend destroyed her life while I dragged her to our house that day. At least it isn't her actual life but something tells me Creeps is going to kick both our asses regardless.

"Ready to go?"
"Mhm!"

Her happy-go-lucky attitude made me feel worse immediately. I apparently didn't hide it too well, like it would have stopped her anyway, but thankfully she took it as something else entirely. She shot me a hopeful smile and wrapped her arm around mines.

"Hey, don't worry so much. Our conversations stay here, remember?"

Ok, maybe that was worrying me, too. I've said a lot of crap about a lot of people that I just so happen to be really close to. I really don't want that stuff coming out, but at least I know I chose the right lock box of a person to confide in.

"Same here." She pouted and broke eye contact instantly.

"I can't help it, she's so energetic!"
"It's a creeper thing, I think."
"No, no it is not."

I chuckled and teleported away, popping up in the house seconds later. As per usual, Brine was passed out on the couch from last night's 'work' and none of the others were awake at all. I sorta planned it that way, knowing she'd want to make them something but always overslept on her days off. She deserves the sleep, it always seems like she never gets any.

"H lives with you?"

"Nope. He's just lazy. Teleporting between realms is annoying." I answered, smiling slightly. "You know you can just call him Brine, right?"

"What fun is that?"
"See, and this is why I liked her so fast."

We looked over to see Brine sit up, stretching from his nap. In reality, he had to go through respawn and popped back up on our couch after. Seeing as he practically lives there, it's pretty fitting. He looked at Anna for a few seconds and I instantly knew something was up. I narrowed my gaze and pointed to the kitchen door.

"I refilled everything in the kitchen for you."

"Thanks, Endie." She answered, deciding to ignore my suspicions. She catches onto everything, I doubt she didn't catch that. I watched her close the door with a quiet hum than shifted it back to Brine.

"What is it?"
"What? I was just thinking."
"I know you better than that, Brine."
"Fair enough, but I'm right."
"About what?"

"She should meet Ed."
"Hell no."

"What? Why? I mean, if she starts hanging around you more she'll meet him eventually anyway."

"But he doesn't need to and I don't see why she should." I answered.

"Because he'd probably like to see someone other than challengers, you, and me." He answered. "You've been looking for someone to 'sacrifice' to him anyway, why not her? It'll be great." I crossed my arms and waited for him to actually admit to what he was getting at. Eventually he sighed but smirked. "Fine. I have some lava cookies saved for him and don't feel like getting set on fire again. Dragon fire hurts a whole lot more than Wither fireballs and it's sad enough that I can make that distinction right now."

"No."
"Ugh, no fun."

With that he lied back down and I popped into the kitchen, spotting the little yellow baker at work. She may not be my type but I'll admit she is cute. Bouncing ponytail, yellow dress, and quiet humming. If you told me there could be a hybrid rabbit in this world, I'd believe it because of her.

She spotted me and dragged me into the mix, giving me little things to do like breaking eggs and brewing potions. I don't blame her either. Tell me to cook a steak and you'll be in love; Tell me to make some cookies and that's when all the problems pop up.

Eventually Creeps woke up and took my place, leaving me to go back to the book I was reading and trying to forget how I'm basically betraying my angel friend in there. I can hear them happily talking and cooking, even Bones has joined in by now. Under better circumstances, I'd be ecstatic knowing they're all getting along, but right now everything just feels wrong.

"Endie? You OK?" I looked over at Brine and sighed, making sure I was quiet enough for the others not to hear.

"No."
"What's up?"
"Anna."
"She seems fine to me."

"For now, yeah." I tossed my book and leaned over, head in my hands. I know this is better for her. She won't lose a life, her 'friends' will be gone, and I don't have to worry about her all the time, but...geez. "She's going to hate me." I stated, bluntly.

"It has to happen, Endie. At least you can save her."

"I know. I know. I know." I sighed, putting my face back in my hands. It's like I was trying to rub away the thoughts, and if I could I would. "I keep telling myself that and yet here I am. What if it crushes her?"

"...Nah."
"Nah?"
"She's far too realistic to take this hard."
"How do you know? You just met her."

"You haven't noticed how OK with all this she is? It's weird, but good." He patted my back a few times before standing up. "She'll be just fine. Maybe not at first, but she will be. Anyway, gotta go get ready."

Poof gone. I glanced intl the open door of the kitchen, spotting the bright smile of Anna.

I really hope your right, Brine.
