Cracks and Breaks

"W-What?..."

"What?!" Creeps yelled. She started yelling at the two men but I couldn't hear it. It's as if all sound had stopped with me. My memories tortured me within seconds of recognizing what they just told me. M-My friends...My bakery... My home.... It's all up in flames...

I was crying but couldn't really understand anything. This has to be a prank. Just like those cookies but so so much worse. I felt a hand on my back and looked over to see Bones trying to comfort me. He was saying something but I just couldn't focus on them. I stared at him for a few seconds before going back to the guest room, closing the door, and falling down.

It's all gone...

~~~~~~
"Has she answered yet?"
"Of course not! You broke her!"
"We didn't mean it!"
"Sure, because you specifically didn't just crisp a city hours ago."
"If you aren't going to help, Bones. Shut up."
"I'm just saying, even if she did answer, it's not like she'd want to see either of you."
*Snap*
"All of you shut up!" I snapped. All previous arguing shut down and they all looked at me wide eyed. I sighed heavily, trying to calm myself down. "Arguing isn't going to help anything. All we can do is wait. Hopefully she'll come out tomorrow."
"Your oddly calm for someone who almost strangled me to death when she actually broke." Brine said, rubbing his neck. Creeps sighed and shoved past them, sitting down beside me on the couch.
"She doesn't hate you." It was like a switch was flipped. She went from ready to kill us to caring in seconds. "She's just a little hurt."
"I ruined her life."
"No, technically that was Brine."
"Hey!"
"Hush." Bones said, turning back to me. "She's right, End. She'll be fine."
"All of you just met her."
"And yet we believe in her more than you?" Brine butted in.
"I've never seen her break! She's only ever been happy or sad! I'm sorry, I'm worried." I exclaimed, throwing my hands up. Creeps rolled her eyes and hugged me, admittedly calming me down some.
"We aren't harassing you over that, we're just saying to let it go a bit. She's a strong girl, we can all tell." That's what she wants you to think, damn it. She does have a breaking point, I've just never seen it.
I was hoping I never would.
The night passed and so did the next day. She didn't come out at all, I should know. I never left the couch incase she came out while we were asleep. I know it's better than her being gone forever but... My god does it hurt. I always said I'd be the one to beat the nether out of anyone who hurt her, but I'm the one who broke her.
My strategy changed on day three. I popped in when I was sure she was asleep to leave some food on the little table in there, than parked myself right beside her door. I sat against the wall, every once and a while knocking to see if she'd actually answer me for once. Morning turned to afternoon and afternoon to night. Around midnight I was drifting off when I heard something. The smallest of creaks. I looked over to see Anna peeking her head out and looking around. When she looked down at me, she pouted slightly.
"You should sleep in your own bed, Endie."
"I'd be too worried." Her sudden appearance didn't make me feel any better. She still had a few tears steaming down her face, eyes red and puffy. "I'm sorry, Anna. I should have told you." I said, tiredly.
When was the last time I wasn't worried? I honestly don't remember. She looked at me for a few seconds before coming out fully, closing the door quietly behind her. Her hair was messy, still in the bright yellow dress she came here in. I'll borrow some clothes from Creeps later.
I snapped out of my thoughts when she moved towards me, plopping down onto my lap and lying against me. I heard her sniffle and sighed, hugging her close. I'm so so sorry, Anna. I know I hated her friends, but she didn't. She was kind towards anyone who stepped foot near her, I can't imagine how this feels. I've only ever had these guys, I'm out of my element and don't know how to fix this.
"I saw it coming." She explained, hugging me back weakly. "Rumors of his return spread through the city, and you two coming in that morning only confirmed it.... Why didn't you just tell me?"
"I couldn't. Seeing you so happy-go-lucky and energetic, I wanted to but couldn't get it out."
"...Am I the only survivor?"
"Yes." Silence filled the room for a few minutes. "I understand if you don't want to stay. Tell me anywhere and I'll take you there, OK?"
"Endie, I don't hate you." She huffed, hugging me tighter. "I wanna stay with you. If it's OK with everyone else."
"Pft, fully expect Creeps to go into full 'Worried Mother' mode as soon as she sees you later. Trust me, they are already attached to you." I chuckled, lying my head back. I shifted so I was leaning against the corner of the room. She relaxed in my arms, looking as exaughsted as I feel. "You sure you don't use magic? Because everyone who meets you is instantly attached."
"No, that's another affect of my past." She said, nonchalantly. "Don't ask. I'm too tired to tell."
"Than go to bed."
"I don't see you moving either."
"Nope. Too lazy." She giggled at this.
"Than I guess we sleep here tonight."
We were out like a light minutes later.
