Kokichi sighed as his feet swung back and forth from the chair. The silence ate away at his soul, boredom soaking through every pore. He'd go to sleep, but he didn't like being in such a vulnerable position without Shuichi or Rantaro around, so he felt like he had no choice but to stay awake. Fuck this, why don't I redecorate for them?

Grinning, Kokichi leapt from the chair and went to grab the car keys, finding nothing in the usual spot. Oh, that's right, Shuichi took the car to work, and Rantaro has the bike... Guess I should call Harukawa! I haven't bothered her in a hot minute. Harukawa worked as a florist, although it was a job that covered her real one since she did illegal work. She worked as an assassin, which granted a hefty wage that she could claim came from her florist work.

Somehow, Shuichi didn't know about Harukawa's secret. Considering they were best friends, Kokichi found it odd, but he was one of the few who knew. He'd tagged along with Shuichi to Harukawa and Momota's home, but he did some snooping and uncovered her secret. Whipping out his mobile, he dialled the criminal's number.

"What do you want?" Harukawa spat from the other line.

"Wow, rude! That's no way to talk to your best friend-in-law!"

"We're never going to be friends."

"Gasp!"

"Did you just... Say gasp?"

"Yes. Anyway, I need a fuck-tonne of flowers immediately. I'll pay you."

"What's it for?" Kokichi sighed, having predicted that Harukawa would want to know every detail. He wasn't surprised, she was most likely figuring out whether he was planning to pull a prank on her.

"To make Rantaro and Shuichi feel better when they come home. I'm decorating our room if you must know!"

"Fine, but I'm only doing this for them." Once Harukawa hung up the call, Kokichi grinned, glad his plan worked.

Kokichi stood to the side as Harukawa walked through the front door with a glare, bags of flowers and fake vines in her hands. "How long until they get home?"

"They'll be back in around two hours... Unless they leave early," Kokichi replied, taking another bag from the woman and locking the door behind her.

"Let's get on with it then. Which room?" Harukawa asked. Kokichi led her upstairs towards the bedroom that he'd quickly cleaned before she arrived. Dumping the bags onto the bed, Kokichi and Harukawa grabbed the vines and climbed on the furniture, taping the decorations to the walls and roof. This is going to be so much fun!

Finishing the decorating, Kokichi glanced around the bedroom with pride, smiling to himself. The vines intertwined with a rainbow array of flowers, cascading three of the pale grey walls and framing the windows. Both of them had decided the arrangement needed something added, and Harukawa had luckily known beforehand. She'd brought a bag filled with strings of fairy lights which came in useful.

Kokichi approached the new switch sitting beside the bed, controlling the battery-powered lights. He flicked it on, white flashes illuminating the room with a faint light, bringing focus to the bright colours around the room. "Is that all you wanted?" Harukawa asked. She still seemed apathetic, but Kokichi noted the faint smile tugging the corner of her lips.

"Yep!" Kokichi grinned, clapping his hands together and jumping around the room.

"I'm leaving then," she stated, leaving the room. When she walked, she never made noise and always seemed to be floating, presumably behaviours she picked up from her job.

"Hold on," Kokichi sighed, following the woman before she could leave the home. "It's midnight so I guess you could stay over if you're too tired to drive." As much as the two didn't get along, Kokichi didn't want Harukawa to end up injured, he still cared.

"I'm good enough to drive," she sighed.

"Well, I need to pay you first. A leader like me always keeps his word!" Kokichi grinned.

"No need. This was kind of fun, I enjoyed it. Plus it was for Shuichi and Amami, so that's pay enough," Harukawa muttered.

"Awe, is the assassin getting soft?!~" Kokichi teased with a malicious grin, holding his index finger to his lips. Within a second, Harukawa had her hand squeezing Kokichi's neck, the male's feet barely grazing the floor. Grinning, Kokichi held the assailant's wrist, happy with the reaction as she often became violent when he mentioned her job. He liked having control over people's reactions, it made him feel powerful which he'd always craved.

Hearing the lock of the front door jiggle, the two glanced over to see it swing open, revealing Shuichi and Rantaro. The two groups shared confused glances. "Um... Harukawa why are you strangling Kokichi again?" Rantaro asked, peeking over Shuichi's shoulder.

"Why are you here? It's good to see you, but it's unexpected..." Shuichi questioned.

"He pranked me. Said something about you two being missing," Harukawa lied. One thing Kokichi admired about the woman was her ability to think up a lie on the spot, rivalling his abilities. Although she'll never be as good as me! Harukawa released the male, dropping him to the ground as he massaged his throat. "I'm leaving now."

"Oh, okay, well it was good to see you!" Rantaro smiled, the two standing to the side so Harukawa could leave. The three watched her hop into her vehicle and drive away to her home, leaving the surprise for Kokichi to reveal.

"Why'd you prank her Kokichi?" Shuichi sighed, the two entering the home. The sound of crickets chirping faded away as the door shut and locked behind them.

"I was bored!" Kokichi whined with a pout. "Less talking more going to bed! It's late you two!" Shuichi and Rantaro chuckled, taking off their shoes and hanging up their jackets before making their way upstairs.

Kokichi lagged behind the two as they opened the door, smiling as they stopped at stared into the room. "This is..." Please like it, please like it! "Really cool!" Rantaro gasped. They analysed the room as if they were entering a fairytale, eyes sparkling as the fairy lights shined bright.

"This is amazing Kichi, I take it Harukawa helped?" Shuichi asked, planting a soft kiss on Kokichi's cheek.

"No, I grew the flowers out of the walls." Kokichi rolled his eyes with a smirk.

"It's a nice surprise to come home to," Rantaro reassured the purplette. The three slipped into nightwear and entangled their limbs as they slipped into bed. These flowers better not wilt soon, that'll be hell to clean. At least it smells nice in here.
