"I have something to say," Shuichi interrupted, distracting his two boyfriends from their lunch date.
"What up Shumai?" Kokichi chuckled. Shuichi took a deep breath as he stood, confusing both Rantaro and Kokichi. Walking around the table, he reached into his pocket and pulled out two boxes, opening them as he lowered to one knee.
Rantaro gasped as he figured out what was happening, covering his agape mouth with one hand. Everyone around them turned to watch the spectacle as Shuichi began speaking. "I love you both more than anything. No matter what, I'll always be by your sides, in life and death. Will you two marry me?"
"Of course you fucking idiot!" Kokichi cheered, tears pouring down his face as he pulled Shuichi into a deep kiss.
"Yes, yes, yes!" Rantaro gasped, pulling Shuichi into a kiss of his own as the latter gingerly pushed the ring onto their fingers. The cafe erupted in cheers as the three hugged each other tight, enjoying the happiest moment of their lives.
Leaving the cafe in a heavenly mood, the three jumped into their car. "Why do I have to sit at the back?!" Kokichi whined. Rantaro laughed and turned, able to do so since he wasn't the driver, and stuck his tongue out at the purplette.
"You're the shortest, that's why," he joked.
Kokichi gasped, his mouth hanging open as he fought a smile. "I'm going to castrate you with a fish," he threatened. Rantaro and Shuichi shared a perplexed glance as they broke out in laughter, only adding to their cheerful moods.
Although, it was soon cut short by a shout from Shuichi before Rantaro's world went black. He couldn't see anything as he felt his body floating, the scraping and bending of metal piercing his ears. Groaning, Rantaro's eyes fluttered open to find himself upside down, hanging an inch above the roof of the car. Unable to think straight, he unbuckled the seatbelt and hit the metal with a grunt, ignoring the burning flames licking at his tender, lacerated skin.
All Rantaro knew he needed to do was escape so he shoved himself through the opening of the warped door beside him, running on pure instinct. He heard faint shouting but ignored it as he crawled along the bitumen, stumbling to his feet as he felt shards of debris shift inside his body.
"Hey!" Rantaro blankly stared at the person running towards him, grabbing him cautiously and sitting him on the curb, a decent distance from the wreckage. "Someone's called the ambulance, you're going to be okay." Unable to form a proper reply, Rantaro only grunted. "How are you feeling? Make sure not to move."
Rantaro didn't answer. His body felt numb and energetic, he felt like he was watching a movie in first-person view. Raising his hand to his tingling head, he tapped it before staring at his blood-coated hand and wrist. The world around him spun as he took note of the sheer amount of blood he must've lost from his head wound alone.
Surveying his surroundings, Rantaro noticed another car flipped on its side. A puddle of an unknown substance soaked into the road, having sprayed everywhere. Rantaro watched as civilians attempted to pull a child from the wreckage. Poor thing... I hope they're okay. He gasped as he remembered the series of events leading up to the crash, remembering the two people who were accompanying him.
"Where's Kokichi and Shuichi?" Rantaro muttered to himself.
The stranger beside him turned and frowned. "Who are they? Is one of them your spouse?" They asked, gaze flicking to the ring fresh on his finger.
"They're... Both of them are my fiancees. Shuichi only proposed a few minutes ago..." Rantaro sighed as he recalled the events of his past he'd briefly forgotten in the shock of the crash. Glancing around in a daze, Rantaro's eyes locked onto the flaming car he'd escaped moments prior, unaware of the situation.
Shaking off the blanket that the stranger attempted to wrap around him, Rantaro launched himself towards the upsidedown vehicle and knelt beside the driver's door. "Shuichi! I'll get you out, hold on," he stammered.
"Rantaro..." Shuichi whispered, his eyes struggling to stay open. "Take care of yourself. How's Kokichi?"
Kokichi? I haven't seen him... Glancing into the back seat, Rantaro stared at a sight he had hoped he wouldn't have to see. A long piece of metal from the car frame had impaled the purplette through the chest and blood had soaked into the car seat and splattered around the inner vehicle. "He's fine Shuichi, don't worry," Rantaro lied. "Let's focus on getting you out."
The driver's door had caved in, pinning Shuichi to the seat as he lay on his side. Rantaro grabbed the edge and attempted to yank it. "Stop, stop!" Shuichi screamed as he groaned in pain. Jerking his hands back from the wreck, Rantaro glanced at Shuichi to see him breathing heavily. He had been so caught up in saving Shuichi that he hadn't noticed the glass embedded in his torso beneath the remains of the window.
"Get away from the cars!" A civilian screamed. "Quick! It's going to explode!" Rantaro glanced around to notice flames closing in on the strange puddle. It's petrol...
"Rantaro, go, please," Shuichi begged as he smiled. "I love you."
"No! I'm not leaving you here to die!" Rantaro screamed. Before the two could argue, Rantaro felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist and pull him. He fought against the captive, his vision blurring as the male screamed and cried. "You're going to kill him! Shuichi's still in there!"
"There's nothing we can do for him, I'm sorry," the stranger muttered from behind Rantaro. He attempted to fight but all attempts were futile.
Rantaro watched through blurry, burning eyes as the flames reached the petrol-soaked bitumen. Both vehicles burst into flames, exploding the remains of the wreckage including Rantaro's fiancees of twenty minutes.

"Uh, yeah, that's why I'll never date or ride in a car again," Rantaro muttered. He spun the ring around his finger, staring at the metal object. "That's also the cause of this stupid scar on my cheek." Subconsciously touching his face, Rantaro felt the warped, white scar tissue beneath his fingers.
Shinguji nodded, the atmosphere solemn around them. "I'm deeply sorry for your loss," he apologised, pulling the crying greenette into a tight hug.
