Shuichi groaned as he rested his head in his hands, closing his eyes to distract from the work strewn over his desk. His office was cold due to the night breeze outside, the little heater in the corner wasn't enough to warm him. The case he'd been working on for months went cold years prior, but Shuichi felt deep down that he could solve it, he just needed more time.

Hearing a series of knocks, Shuichi looked up to see Kirigiri entering the office. "Hello Saihara, there's a visitor here to see you. May I let them in?" She asked, keeping half of her body obscured by the door.

"Sure," Shuichi sighed, moving to gather all of the case papers and slip them into the manilla folder to hide them. He returned his focus to the door, noticing Kokichi closing the officer entrance behind him, both him and Kirigiri standing in front of it. "Why are you here Kokichi? Is something wrong?" It was odd for the purplette to be at Shuichi's work since the male wasn't too fond of law enforcement. Shuichi often wondered why they were even in a relationship given that fact.

"Shu... Rantaro and I are worried about you. You've barely been home in the past few months and when you are, you just sleep and come back here." Kokichi's eyes held a glimmer of fear as he slowly approached the blue-haired detective.

"I'm sorry, I've just been trying to find any lead on this case," Shuichi muttered.

"Yeah, well, we're going home. It's 10 pm and you need to get back into a normal routine," Kokichi pouted. Grabbing Shuichi's hand, he attempted to tug the detective to his feet.

"I appreciate all the work you're doing for this agency, Saihara, but your health takes priority. The case can be worked on by another detective, but there's only one version of you to take care of," Kirigiri explained.

"No, I want this case, I can do it Kirigiri!" Shuichi stood up, leaning his free arm on the table as he begged the woman. "I don't want this to go to someone else!"

"I understand. The case will remain under your care then. It'll be here for you..." Shuichi released a breath he didn't realise he'd been holding. "When you get back from your two-week break."

"What? I had a two-week break not too long ago, I can't have another one!" Shuichi argued.

"Yes, you can. I'm changing the way things work around here, now that I've been permitted by the higher-ups. Mental health is more important than a cold case that we can keep an eye on whilst you're gone. Plus, you've worked too much overtime, so you'll have to take the time off regardless."

"Fine, let me shut everything down," Shuichi muttered. He knew he couldn't win and he knew Kirigiri and Kokichi were correct, he'd been working too much. Turning off his computer and filing the manilla folders scattered about, Shuichi grabbed his stuff and dropped them into his shoulder bag. Slipping the bag over his shoulder, Shuichi followed Kokichi to the car park, the two waving goodbye to Kirigiri as they left.

Shuichi's eyes were blank as the two walked in silence and approached the single car that both the detective and guitarist shared. As they slipped inside, Shuichi yawned as exhaustion swarmed him, his body only just noticing how tired he truly was. "It's okay Shumai, rest that pretty little head of yours and I'll get you home in no time! Don't worry, you don't even have to pay me!" Kokichi chuckled.

Humming in response, Shuichi allowed his eyes to flutter closed, the world around him turning black as his body thanked him. Right before he fell asleep, Shuichi had the faint recollection of Kokichi reaching over him and positioning his seatbelt.

Sighing, Shuichi's eyes opened and immediately adjusted to the pitch-black room, only lit by the moonlight blocked by their closed curtains. Groaning, he stretched his limbs as he crawled out of the familiar bed, noticing his boyfriends were nowhere in sight. What time is it? Maybe they're at work? No, it's nighttime... Glancing at the digital alarm clock beside the bed, Shuichi noticed an hour had passed since Kokichi had picked up him from work.

Leaving the bedroom, Shuichi decided to search for the two missing men, searching through the house for them. As he walked past the back sliding door, Shuichi noticed a light peeking through the glass, the two men outside talking with each other. The detective approached, hearing them speaking through the cracked open door.

"What do we do? Did it go well when you talked to Kirigiri?" Rantaro asked the purplette.

"Yeah, Shuichi's got two weeks off work. I'm sure she'll give more whenever he needs it," Kokichi replied. "He might spend the entire time worrying about work though. We need to find a way to distract him so he can relax again."

"Agreed. Ever since he was given the cold case he spiralled again, didn't he?" Rantaro sighed. Shuichi's heart dropped, he hadn't realised he worried the others with his work, and he hadn't realised he'd been overworking himself. Truthfully, he'd known, but he forced himself to ignore it.

Opening the door, Shuichi smiled sadly and stared at the ground. "I'm sorry for worrying you both, I'll try harder to take care of myself," he muttered.

"Oh, hey Shuichi, we didn't realise you woke up..." Rantaro returned the smile, standing up so he could peck the detective's cheek.

"Shumai, you should go back to bed, it's eleven," Kokichi frowned. "You need the sleep."

"You both do too," Shuichi retorted. He didn't want to argue, but he also didn't want to go back to bed alone, he enjoyed the cuddling.

"Let's all go to bed, let me turn on the alarm," Rantaro smiled, sneaking into the house. Kokichi grabbed Shuichi's hand and pulled him inside, locking the door behind him and turning off the patio light. The two made their way toward the bedroom, soon joined by Rantaro as they slipped into bed.

Shuichi and Kokichi wrapped their arms around Rantaro who lay in between them. The greenette pulled the fluffy blankets over them, wrapping one arm around each of his boyfriends. "Goodnight you two," Rantaro chuckled.

"Good... Night..." Shuichi muttered, feeling his eyes flutter closed for the second time that night.
