The morning rolled around faster than you could've guessed, your roommate Sasha woke you up by the loud obnoxious chewing but it wasn't a surprise to you because she did it on the daily.
"Jesus Christ, were you raised in a barn? Chew with your mouth closed!" You hissed throwing the pillow over your head in ever attempts to drown it out.
"Sorry" she responded her mouth full of food. "I'm hungry"
"When are you not hungry?" you breathed a chuckle, shaking your head before you lifted the pillow and freed your head once more to look at her.
"Fair point" she responded with her mouth full but this time crumbs of whatever she was eating seeping out.
"What time is it?" You asked, slowly propping yourself up before throwing your legs off the side of the bed, letting them dangle towards the ground.
"Early" she replied.
"Thanks" you scoffed, rolling your eyes, raising your arms to stretch.
"Are you nervous?" Sasha asked, wiping her mouth with her sleeve.
"For?" You asked in question as you threw non your button up shirt.
"Joining the scouts? I saw the way you froze in fear yesterday." Your head dropped embarrassed. "The Commander saw you tense up as well. I saw him glancing at you"
"Yeah I know..." you spoke low. "I was just caught off guard with the whole expedition in a month thing" before Sasha could answer, a loud out of tune knock came banging on your door.
"Wake up ya dimwits!" Connie yelled from the opposing side of the door.
"We're up you idiot" Sasha yelled back.
"Guys it's like 5:30 in the morning, stop screaming." You winced at the loudness of their voices.
"My bad" Connie lowered his voice as he opened the door revealing himself. "You two ready?"
"You could call it that" you responded truthfully. "Sasha put it down" you huffed, watching her place a loaf of bread in her inside jacket pocket. "It will be here when you get back. No one is gonna take it"
"Hurry up or we're gonna be late." Connie groaned knowing this was a daily struggle with Sasha. Sasha mumbled angrily, opening her drawer to placed the loaf of half eaten bread inside. The three of you ventured towards the staging area where your broke from the two and steered towards where Reiner and Bertholdt stood.
"Good morning boys" you spoke, rounding your whole body to now be facing the both of them.
"Good morning YN" Bertholdt smiled, Reiner sending you one as well.
"This is the first day as an official Scout. Crazy" you chuckled, rubbing your arm.
"I wonder what we're doing today" Reiner asked, turning his head to glance around at all the groups of scouts.
"I heard we were starting more hand to hand combat with some next level skills." Bertholdt responded.
"Hand to hand combat? Why would we need that with Titans?" You lowered your brows mildly confused.
"Beats me" Reiner shrugged his shoulders.
"Attention cadets!" The familiar commanders voice echoed the early morning air.
"Welcome to the first day of being a part of the Scout Regiment. In the next month before the expedition, we will be going over everything you already learned and more in order to prepare you for the journey." Commander Erwin spoke. "Today we will be focusing on the hand to hand combat. Section Commander Hange Zoe, Section Commander Miche Zacharius and Captain Levi Ackerman will have you all split into groups to assess the new techniques you'll need to incorporate into today's 1v1"
