Your eyes shot over to the chaos that surrounded the armored. The titan was on his knees as the titans surrounded him, gnawing at him. Your heart dropped, Reiner..... but wait Erwin went that way. Shit.
Your head snapped back looking into the direction of where your steed was coming from, an abnormal titan came bobbling towards you stomping directly on your horse. The crunching of the horse beneath the titan made your bones ache. Your eyes widened as the titan approached you. You went to shoot your gear but your gas can sputtered. Empty. Your heart began to beat recklessly and your hand started to sweat.
The titan was approaching fast and your brain had fogged over to black and white fuzz. Your breathe shakily escaped your lips. You slowly closed your eyes just accepting that at this moment, you were in the high probability of getting eaten by a titan. Your knees gave out from under you and they caved towards the ground. You toned out the sound of the titan approaching and just focused on listening to your breathing.
The thuds came closer and closer rumbling the the ground the faster it approached you. You saw the sun disappear through your eyelids. This was it. And no one would know what happened to you.
Suddenly a whoosh came last minute and an arm locked around your waist lifting you to safety right as you opened your eyes to see the mouth of the titan wide open. You were whisked to a tall tree branch where whoever saved you planted you safely.
"Are you alright?" The voice spoke. A male voice. A slightly scruff to it. Reiner. You turned to see the blonde right in front of you.
"How did you?- the titans- why did you-" you couldn't form a single question without another one wanting to surface past your lips. He just saved your life and you're already trying to interrogate him. "Why did you save me?" You finally asked your voice low. A sharp exhale escaped his lips as he brought his hand to his face rubbing his eyes.
"I- I don't know." He responded lowering his head "but I saw you and I saw the titan and I just couldn't sit there and watch." He gruffed.
"Why did you do it?" You asked
"Christ I just told you-"
"No. Why did you take Eren?" You spat slightly.
"I don't have enough time to explain it." He spoke turning his head to the scouts retreating with Eren. "I'm sorry." Was the last words he said before he shot off from your branch into the trees eventually losing sight of him.
How the fuck were you gonna get down?
You planted your ass on the branch and kept your eyes down at the titan scratching the trunk of the tree. You heard someone calling your name in a panic. Your eyes darted to the source, Sasha and Connie.
"Oh my god you're okay!!" Sasha wailed as Connie flung at the titan slicing its nape.
"Yeah she's not an idiot." Connie huffed as he landed on the ground, the titan collapsing behind him.
"I ran out of gas, I can't get done safely." You dropped your shoulders as your eyes shot to where Reiner took off. "I had just enough to get up here." You lied through your teeth.
"I gotcha sunshine." Connie spoke as he shot up to you quickly grabbing hold of you and headed back to the ground.
"Thank you." You huffed parting from Connie and instantly Sasha embraced you.
"I would've been so lost without your rations" she cried and you rolled your eyes smiling.
"I- my horse is toast. Can I ride back with one of you?" You asked transferring your eyes between Connie and Sasha. "Did we get Eren?"
"Yes and yes." Connie spoke as he mounted his horse holding a hand to help you up.
"Is-" you began but Sasha instantly cutting you off.
"Yes commander Erwin is okay." She nodded and sent you a wink.
"The commander absolutely rocked Bertholdts ass. He came out of no where and sliced Eren free from Bertholdt. With one arm and everything. The most badass shit I've ever seen." Connie spoke turning his head slightly so his voice could be heard clearly. You exhaled in relief that everyone else was okay.
After a short ride back to the walls, you parted from Connie and said your thanks before taking off towards the barracks.
"The commanders in his room." Hanges voice suddenly startled you causing you to jump. "He's been asking for you but no one has seen you. Levi is holding him hostage. Better get In there before he strangles the commander." Hange joked passing you in the hall. You smiled weakly and made your way to the commanders room that adjoined to his office.
Without even knocking, you opened the door slowly and Erwin's eyes shot up to see you and his whole body relaxed. All the tension left and his eyes softened.
"Jesus thank god. He's all yours." Levi mumbled as he saw himself out. You waited for the door to close before you made your way towards the bed. Erwin's arm was patched up and he was dressed in clean bedtime clothes. He tried to sit up and start to get out of bed but you huffed reached to him and slightly pushing him back down.
"I'm coming, sit your injured self back down." You smiled gently. His eyes were fixated on you. "I'm okay Erwin."
"I shouldn't have left you." He started but you instantly placed your index finger to his lips silencing him.
"I'm okay, you're okay. That's all that matters." You smiled placing your hand on his cheek. He leaned his head into your hand. "How did you know what happened...."
"Hange." Erwin huffed. "I sent her your way once my brain cleared and I realized I left you. She saw the whole thing." Fuck. "Did he hurt you?"
"What no? He saved my life for reasons I don't even know." You mumbled. "And then he took off." You lowered your head lightly. "How's your arm?" You asked trying to change the subject.
"Well doc says it's only broken in one spot. But all the nerves are in tact. Recovery should be quick. Any longer in that titans mouth, I would've lost my arm. Thank you." He smiled as his ocean eyes scanned your face for any scratches or bruises with his non injured hand.
"You are one hardass." You huffed leaning your head against his shoulder as his opposing hand stayed placed on your cheek. "Next time I tell you we are leaving. It means we are leaving." You lightly growled only to hear him chuckle.
