Erwin pulled away and brought his light eyes to gaze into yours. Almost as if he were analyzing your facia expression for your reaction. You stood there at a loss of words.
"Erwin..." you breathed out. "What are we doing? You told me we couldn't, that you couldn't..."
"I just can't stand there and watch the way they look at you. Because I stand there and think to myself about all the inappropriate things I want to do to you. No commander should feel that way about one of their cadets. It's wrong in many ways, YN. I just can't seem to help myself. I can't get you out of my head" Erwin huffed as his facial expression turned to defeat. "I want you and that's not changing." He finished off sternly.
"But what about-" you began to say but he hushed you by bringing his finger to seal your lips.
"As for now, it will have to remain just between us." He smiled gently.
"So is this your way of asking me out?" You smirked unintentionally as your cheeks redden. His hand moved the hair out of your face placing it behind your ear. His eyes scanned your beauty as a smile crept on his lips.
"Commander I don't want to get you in trouble" you teased lightly.
"You won't" he responded as he grabbed the back of your neck and hoisted you in towards him colliding his soft lips onto yours. It made your knees weak, at how gentle and careful he was with you. For being such a straight forward and blunt man, you were expecting otherwise. A knock formed at the door forcing him to part from you. A groan exited his mouth as you exhaled with butterflies swarming through your body.
His hand fixed your hair and the flipped collar of your jacket. You chuckled as you fixed his scouts jacket aligning it perfect along his shoulders.
"Now sit down and grab that paper in the desk, act like you're reading it." He whispered as he sat on the opposing side of the desk and cleared his throat before speaking again. "ENTER!" He called out and it nearly startled you at the sudden volume change. The door swung open and entered Levi and Hange. Hange had a smirk on her face as her eyes gravitated between you and the commander. Levi still had the same look on his face as he normally did.
"The little blonde cadet-" levi began but hange cut him off
"Armin, levi. His name is Armin" she corrected him as she kept her eyes on you almost as if she were trying to ask you something without saying the words.
"Whatever. He needs to speak with you about the female titan. He has allegations on who it might be." Levi finished as his eyes glanced at you quickly just to acknowledge your existence in that moment and then placed his eyes back on the commander.
"Absolutely, tell him to go to the meetings room immediately." Commander Erwin ordered as he stood up from his chair quickly. "You two as well" he added looking at Levi and hange in which they both nodded in response. Erwin sent you a small smile before turning his attention back to levi. The two men shortly ventured out the room but hange stayed with a smirk on her face.
"Sooooo YN, got anything to tell me?" She kept the smirk on her face as she squinted her eyes.
"I don't know what you're talking about" you spoke trying to not sound like an idiot whilst saying it. A loud cackled escaped from hanges lips
"Now YN I may be crazy but I'm not an idiot. I know what I see when I see it." She finally piped down scooting closer to you.
"You cannot say ANYTHING to ANYONE!" You pleaded as you knew she was gonna pry it out of you either way.
"Your secrets safe with me." She winked before she turned to exit the door. " if anything, I was the one that told him to go for it. Stubborn bastard made up every excuse not to make the move. I'm a match making goddess." She laughed exiting the office leaving you to stand in place.
Minutes after, you exited the commander's office heading down the hall towards the loud echoing mess hall. The voices grew louder as you approached it. Once you entered, your eyes scanned the room for any familiar faces and Sasha jumped from her chair with food basically falling out of her mouth.
"HEYYY YN OVER HERE!" She called out with the bread tightly gripped in her hand. Embarrassed at her screaming, you scurried over to the table where her and Connie sat.
"Why aren't you getting food, you gotta be starving? If you're not hungry, you should get the food for e then." Sasha spoke as she took another bite.
"I don't wanna wait in line" you lied shrugged your shoulders.
"Think the lunch lady will let me have seconds?" Sasha asked Connie.
"She literally always saves your fat ass an extra plate so you don't bug her." Connie rolled his eyes and turned his attention towards you. "Reiner was pissed the Commander made him put away your horse. Boy was redder than a mofo. He was even snapping at Bertholdt. Kinda scary to see." Connie confessed.
"I would've done it myself, but you know I couldn't go against the commanders orders." You dropped your shoulders and slightly lowered your head. "I wish he'd talk to me..."
"He'll get over himself." Connie huffed
"He can't expect you to know what he's feeling, unless he told you" Sasha spoke again with food in her mouth.
"I don't know, he has every right to be hurt." You responded as you twiddled your fingers. Just then, the doors to the mess hall swung open and the commander, Levi, hange, Eren, Mikasa and Armin all entered.
"Attention cadets of the scout regiment" the commander boomed the now quiet hall. " we set out to the Stohess district in 2 days time. We have reason to believe the person who holds the female titans power is someone within the military police."
"How do you know?" One cadet asked
"Where's the evidence?" And then another
"This is such bs" a cadet from the back mumbled.
"Proceed with your dinner." The commander closed out quickly exiting the mess hall as if he were on a mission to get something done. Armin, Mikasa and Eren all walked up to your table seating themselves.
"Howd you figure this out Armin?" You asked leaning your elbows on the table. "Who is it?"
"I have reason to believe it's Annie Leonhart but I really have no evidence to prove it. It's just a hunch." He spoke nervously as he shrugged his shoulders. "We won't officially know until 2 days from now"
"Wait I'm sorry, did I hear you correctly? You said Annie?" You asked caught off guard "there's no way..." you thought to yourself.
"I can't believe it either. She's one of our comrades, someone we have fought along side. It just doesn't seem right" Eren grumbled.
"Again Eren, It's just a hunch. We'll need to get her to agree to helping you 'escape' and then we can go from there." Armin reassured. You sat there listening almost dumbfounded at what you had just heard. Could Annie really be the female titan? Were there more people within the 104th cadet corp that were traitors?
